Kyle Jacobs' Parents Asked The Court To Sanction Kellie Pickler For Court Order Violation

The couple filed a civil contempt petition last month, asserting that the subpoena requiring Kellie to surrender property belonging to Kyle was served on April 29, 2024. According to them, "the said property indisputably belongs to the estate." They added that:
"Despite this court's subpoena, and [Kellie's] own admission that she has failed to relinquish possession of estate property, her admission that she is withholding estate property and despite numerous informal attempts to obtain the withheld property before and after [Kellie's] failure to comply with the [subpoena]."
To that effect, In Touch gathered that the couple requested that their former daughter-in-law get sanctions for deliberately ignoring the subpoena issued and served upon her.

Kellie replied to her former in-laws through her attorney that the court issued no order to support their subpoena. The actress's lawyer insisted, "There is simply no basis to support a contempt petition." A hearing has been set for March 20 for the parties to fight over Kellie being found in contempt.
The conflict between the two parties arose when Kellie refused to take on the role of administrator for his estate, prompting his parents to step in and assume that responsibility.
Last year, Kellie submitted a petition in which she alleged that Reed and Sharon had issued a subpoena requiring her to surrender specific items that belonged to Kyle.
"A dispute has arisen amongst the parties regarding certain personal property allegedly in [Kyle's] possession prior to his death," Kellie's petition read.

Reed and Sharon requested that Kellie provide a variety of items belonging to Kyle. These included his impressive collection of guns and swords, notably his Japanese Samurai sword.
They also listed his luxury Rolex and Garmin watches, a 1957 J45 Gibson guitar, a McPherson KOA guitar, and a plastic bin filled with baseball card albums. Additionally, they wanted to obtain Kyle's school awards, a Steinway Grand Model M piano, a viola, and various electronics.
Kellie accused Reed and Sharon of taking property belonging to Kyle from her home following his death, stating that they never provided an inventory of the items they removed.
Kyle's parents clarified that Kellie had invited them to take a selection of items she had prepared for them, but they still considered certain properties missing.
Kellie's petition reiterated that the list of assets given to her included items she either did not possess or over which ownership was contested.
In their petition, Reed and Sharon argued that Kellie and her legal counsel had provided inconsistent information regarding the whereabouts and rightful ownership of the items in question.
They noted that Kellie had admitted to possessing several of Kyle's belongings. Additionally, Kyle's parents explained that they had a copy of their late son's prenuptial agreement, which clearly outlined the property owned by his estate.

Reports revealed that the guitarist did not consume alcohol before his death. His medical reports detailed that he had a history of "pseudoseizures, gastrointestinal bleeding, elevated liver enzymes, and chronic alcohol use."
During his lifetime, the late songwriter worked with various creatives, including Garth Brooks, Trace Adkins, Jo Dee Messina, Tim McGraw, Clay Walker, and Kelly Clarkson, among others.
Kellie Pickler Is Determined To Prove Her Worth To Her Former In-Laws

The Blast shared last year that the singer affirmed her decision to stand ten toes down in the face of victimization from her former in-laws. She made the decision last year after noting that Reeds and Sharon were trying to "exploit and prey on a grieving widow."
The singer was resolute in pursuing justice, fully aware that it may involve enduring heartbreaks and months of turmoil. On December 11, she took a significant step by petitioning a court to help resolve the ongoing crisis with her in-laws. An insider involved in the case stressed the significance of her action:
"There's no denying Kellie's going through a hard time. She believes this is important and needs to take a stand against the wrong that has been done against her."
The source added that the TV star is committed to her principles, recalling a lesson from her husband in August 2023 about maintaining composure during crises.
She was determined to uphold her stance, regardless of the potential consequences, because she believed she was justified in her actions. She did not make this decision lightly, but she refuses to let others take advantage of her.Ultimately, Kellie was advocating for herself as much as she is for her husband, Kyle.
