Ewan McGregor Wins Petition For Restraining Order Against Woman Allegedly Making Bizarre Threats

Ewan McGregor advances in his bid to keep himself and his family safe from an obsessed fan.
After they both appeared in court remotely, the actor was granted a restraining order against a woman named Angelica Gorentz, who would not let him be.
Ewan McGregor filed his petition against Angelica Gorentz on January 30 in Los Angeles, claiming she targeted and harassed his family members while threatening his spouse.
Ewan McGregor's Stalker Warned To Stay 100 Yards From Him And His Wife
The actor and the woman, reportedly obsessed with him, recently appeared at a court hearing where a restraining order was granted to the actor. The hearing occurred on Monday, February 24, 2025, and both McGregor and Gorentz participated remotely, providing testimony during the proceedings.
McGregor was represented by powerhouse attorney Evan Spiegel, who secured him a verdict ordering Gorentz to stay 100 yards away from him and his spouse, Mary Elizabeth Winstead.
The court order stated that both the protected person and the restrained person were present at the hearing or had provided written agreement to the order, indicating that no additional proof of service was required.
As shared by In Touch, the judge advised Gorentz against intimidating, stalking, threatening, assaulting, or reaching out to McGregor and Mary.
Inside The Actor's Accusations Against His Stalker
According to the documents filed by McGregor, Gorentz has developed "a compulsive and delusional" obsession with McGregor, which has escalated to stalking and harassing not only him but also his family.
She has reportedly sent "dozens of bizarre, delusional, harassing and threatening messages to McGregor and to his family." In a concerning incident, Gorentz drove across the country to California, attempting to reach McGregor and "showing up at the home of his ex-spouse on Christmas Eve."
McGregor's attorney highlighted that her erratic behavior has only intensified, with Gorentz stating her intention to return. The lawyer described her as unstable and noted that she believes she "has a romantic relationship with McGregor" despite this being unfounded.
Additionally, the documents claimed that she had inundated McGregor and his family with hundreds of thousands of harassing messages and claims about wanting to reclaim McGregor for herself.
The Father-Of-Three Insisted He Has No Previous Encounter With Gorentz
The filmmaker expressed his deep concern for his and his family's safety in a formal declaration regarding Gorentz.
He described a troubling incident where, after being ordered to leave his ex-wife's home, Gorentz became visibly agitated and crashed her car into a wall twice while attempting to turn around.
Given these events, the actor sought a protective order to prevent further stalking, unwanted communication, threats, and potential violence from her.
He emphasized that he does not know Gorentz personally and has never had "personal communications with her." The restraining order he has obtained is set to expire in 2030 and extends protection not only to him but also to his wife and children.
The Stalker Expressed Her Intention To Have Children With The Perth-Born Actor
McGregor claims that since 2022, he has received over 500 emails from the woman, many of which contain aggressive and unsettling language expressing her desire to have children with him.
The Blast noted that the actor referenced a particularly alarming email from Gorentz in December. It read: "Because I only need your balls to have kids with you with IVF, not your f-cking d-ck."
McGregor also reported erratic behavior from Gorentz, who allegedly claimed last October that watching "The Da Vinci Code" revealed a secret message from the Illuminati declaring her a "princess."
Ewan McGregor's Stalking Situation Likened To Netflix's 'Baby Reindeer'
The actor's case has drawn unsettling parallels to the psychological series "Baby Reindeer," which depicts an accurate account of obsessive stalking, although McGregor's experience is not quite funny.
Court documents reveal that Gorentz threatened to visit McGregor's ex-wife and later reprimanded the actor in an email, stating, "You f-ck up by the metric tone [sic] since you NEVER FOUND ME IN PERSON. Do I mack [sic] myself clear?"
Disturbingly, she also shared updates about her travels, detailing her stops and activities in various towns, further heightening the alarm surrounding her behavior.
