Things turned dramatic for the host as he gave the audience a piece of his mind on the February 24 episode of "The Daily Show."

The TV veteran got upset as he discussed the decision of the Department of Government Efficiency's budget reductions and the skyrocketing price of prescription drugs.

Stewart voiced a significant concern regarding the pharmaceutical companies receiving substantial subsidies, stating that these companies are only permitting negotiations on the prices of ten drugs.

He pointed out the absurdity of this limited scope, suggesting it would be almost humiliating if the negotiations covered merely a small fraction of the total drugs available.

The TV Presenter Talked Expectation Of The American People

He also stated the expectation that the American public should have the ability to negotiate prices on all medications, especially considering the financial contributions already made to these companies.

"It would be embarrassing if it was a small drop in the bucket and that the American people didn't expect that we should negotiate for all their f-ing drugs because we have already paid for them with our subsidies!" he exclaimed.

The host reiterated the absurdity of the situation as he smashed his mug on the desk, causing him to shatter it and injure himself. "I'll be going to the hospital soon," Stewart shared as he placed his hand under the desk.

He conveyed his unwillingness to wait for a permanent hosting position, highlighting the uncertainty surrounding the role by remarking, "What could they really say? [They're] not going to give me the job just to keep me."
