Lindsay Lohan's Dad Slammed With Protective Order Amid Insisting On His Innocence

The drama between Lindsay Lohan's father, Michael Lohan, and his estranged wife, Kate Major, continues with an emergency protective order in play.

The "Mean Girls" star's father was booked on "continuous violence against the family," a felony assault charge, for allegedly attacking his estranged wife days earlier. In response to the allegations, a judge signed a protective order to keep Major safe.

However, Lindsay Lohan's father remains adamant about his innocence, claiming Kate Major has always been the problem in their marriage. Michael Lohan's attorney echoed similar sentiments, accusing his client's estranged wife of setting him up.

On Monday, February 24, a judge signed an emergency protective order, which banned Michael from assaulting or communicating with Major in a threatening or harassing manner. Additionally, he cannot go anywhere within 200 feet of her place of employment.

The restraining order did not sit well with Michael and his attorney, Andino Reynal. The legal rep vehemently refuted the allegations, arguing that Major was an alcoholic with a criminal record. Her rap sheet reportedly included multiple confirmed DUI arrests and at least 3 DUI convictions.

Reynal claimed Michael always tried to help Major attain sobriety "for her own good and for the good of their two young children." However, his efforts never paid off, as his estranged wife couldn't beat her vices. The attorney, per TMZ, continued:

"When it became clear Kate was not going to give up drinking, Michael asked her to move out of the guest house where she had been living — and these [police] accusations followed."

Michael's attorney stressed that he found the timing of Major's allegations "suspicious" and believed his client would be vindicated with a grand jury finding no probable cause to charge him. Michael echoed similar sentiments of innocence following his arrest on "continuous violence against the family."

The Blast shared that he denied all allegations of wrongdoing, claiming he was the real victim. "I've shut up long enough about Kate's physical, emotional, and verbal abuse. She set me up," Michael claimed, adding:

"Originally, she said I was stalking her! Really? Lol. Then, when that didn't work, she said I pushed her over a chair, which is a total lie."

Michael noted he had video evidence to back his side of the story, adding that his children supported his claims. Besides getting hit with a protective order, "The Parent Trap" star's father received a $30,000 bond following his arrest on Saturday.

According to reports, Major called authorities after spotting Michael in the parking lot of a building in Harris County, Texas, where she was getting a mammogram.

While speaking to authorities, the alleged victim accused her estranged husband of forcibly removing her from a chair at their home, resulting in pain and discomfort. 

A female deputy reportedly observed bruising on Major's body, prompting Michael's arrest on the felony assault charge. The alleged incident marked another concerning event in the duo's relationship, as they had a history of physical violence and domestic disputes.

Last year, Major was arrested for violating a protection order after a public confrontation with Michael. Four years before this incident, Michael was arrested for allegedly choking and harassing Major. Their tumultuous relationship also made waves thanks to Major's DUI drama.

Three months before the alleged assault drama, Michael showcased his love and pride in his daughter by shutting down plastic surgery speculations. He defended Lindsay against rumors that implied her fantastic transformation stemmed from cosmetic procedures.

"Lindsay never had any plastic surgery done ever," the doting father declared. He hailed his daughter's "natural" beauty and condemned the spread of "false narratives." Michael cautioned fans about their speculations, stressing that rumors of celebrities undergoing cosmetic procedures were "disgusting."

Despite applauding Lindsay's beauty, Michael acknowledged that she had undergone "peels, fillers, and Botox."

However, he denied her going under the knife, a sentiment Dr. Ari Hoschander of KH Plastic Surgery in New York City. "She did not have a facelift of any type. I believe she just lost a bit of weight," he said.

Like her father, Lindsay denied the viral speculations of going under the knife to achieve her stunning glow-up. Instead, she linked her radiant appearance to diligent skincare routines and a moderate approach to cosmetic treatments.

The actress stressed that she had always prioritized taking care of her skin and confessed to sparingly using procedures like  "laser, Morpheus, and IPL" to boost her looks. "I'm always interested in what else is out there, what else is coming out," she explained.

Before clearing the air, skin experts like Dr. Jonny Betteridge, founder of London's JB Aesthetics, had weighed in on her alleged surgeries.

He theorized that she had undergone multiple procedures to achieve her flawless features, including a facelift, upper eyelid surgery, rhinoplasty, surgical brow lift, botox, lip lifts, lip fillers, and veneers.

While some may still doubt Lindsay Lohan's natural beauty, her father's legal battle with his estranged wife takes precedence. Will Michael Lohan be vindicated?
