Katy Perry is reportedly struggling with ticket sales for The Lifetimes Tour, especially in smaller U.S. markets.

This comes after the singer's collaboration with controversial music producer Dr. Luke on her "143" album.

Fans were previously left frustrated by Katy Perry's evasive response on the "Call Her Daddy" podcast when questioned about the controversy.

Perry's upcoming The Lifetimes Tour appears to be struggling with ticket sales across several U.S. cities.

According to The U.S. Sun, despite tickets going on sale on January 28, many venues still have a significant number of unsold seats.

While major cities like New York have seen better sales, other locations are lagging behind. For instance, a glance at Ticketmaster's website shows that Perry's May 13 concert at Minneapolis' Target Center still has a large number of available seats, with empty sections dominating the seating chart.

The situation is similar at Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado, where the May 15 show remains largely unsold as the date approaches.

In Raleigh, North Carolina, the Lenovo Center is seeing particularly low demand, with an estimated 60% of tickets still up for grabs.

Meanwhile, at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California, only a handful of sections have sold out, leaving much of the upper level and lower bowl open for purchase.

Katy Perry Faced Backlash Over Her Dr. Luke Collaboration

With the tour just months away, these sluggish sales come after Perry faced backlash from fans over her decision to collaborate with Dr. Luke on her latest album, "143."

The producer has been a controversial figure since singer Kesha accused him of sexual misconduct in a high-profile legal battle.

After years of lawsuits and countersuits, both parties reached a private settlement in 2023, avoiding trial.

In September, the "Fireworks" singer appeared on the "Call Her Daddy" podcast, where host Alex Cooper confronted her about working with Dr. Luke despite the allegations.

Cooper addressed the controversy, saying, "I know a lot of people have expressed disappointment and were really upset that you decided to involve Dr. Luke on this album."

Rather than giving a clear-cut answer, Perry sidestepped the question, emphasizing that he was just "one of many collaborators" on the project.

She insisted the album was deeply personal, saying, "The truth is I wrote these songs from my experience of my whole life going through this metamorphosis."

Perry's answer, unfortunately, exacerbated the backlash, as fans felt she failed to speak directly on the issue.

Perry continued to defend her decision to collaborate with Dr. Luke, stating that he was merely "one of the people to help facilitate" her creative transformation.

The "Dark Horse" singer further explained, "I am speaking from my own experience. Like when I speak about Woman's World, I speak about feeling so empowered now, as a mother, as a woman."

However, her vague response left fans frustrated. One person on X (formerly Twitter) wrote, "So much was said... yet none of it justifies working with Dr. Luke."

"So she basically didn't answer the question," another fan pointed out, per The U.S. Sun.

A third added, "She literally said she worked with him because she wanted to?? Oh yikes, at this point, just don't speak."

"143" marks Perry's first album since her 2020 release, "Smile," and her first since becoming a mother to Daisy Dove Bloom, whom she shares with fiancé Orlando Bloom.

Perry was reportedly warned not to work with Dr. Luke on any new music projects but ignored the advice.

"She was insane to think that Dr. Luke was a good idea," a source told the Daily Mail. "She didn't listen to anyone. Instead of diving deep and creating art, she put something out that sounded like it could have been on an album of hers from 2010."

During a 2018 deposition, Perry also stated that she was aware of the possible public reception of any future collaborations with Dr. Luke.

She said, "Working with him at this moment would mean - would not be - would not be received well because of this lawsuit."

The "Teenage Dream" singer was also asked her thoughts about how working with Dr. Luke could affect the success of any songs she released at the time.

She said, "People would protest against it, a smear campaign, just 20 different narratives than the one that I am."

Meanwhile, Perry is also facing intense backlash after suing 85-year-old veteran Carl Westcott, whom she evicted from her $15 million Montecito mansion amid his declining health.

Westcott had agreed to sell the 1930s estate to Perry in 2020 for $11.25 million, but days later, he attempted to rescind the deal, claiming he was under the influence of painkillers when he signed the contract.

In December 2023, Perry and her fiancé Bloom won the legal battle, securing ownership of the 9,000 sq. ft. home on a 2.5-acre lot.

The singer officially took possession of the property last year. Now, Perry has filed a suit against Westcott, seeking $6 million in damages and back rent.

Reacting to the singer's request for millions in damages, the veteran's son, Chart Westcott, slammed Perry, branding her "greedy" and "unforgivable."
