Jax Taylor Slams Lala Kent For Trashing His Parenting: 'I Don’t Understand Speaking On Other People’s Kids'

Jax Taylor has been through a lot over the last year, and his "Vanderpump Rules" co-star, Lala Kent, isn't showing him any grace.
However, during a recent interview, Jax Taylor replied to Lala Kent's strong feelings about him as a husband and father and slammed her for speaking negatively about his relationship with his child.
Kent Says Jax Taylor Does Not Help Brittany Cartwright With Their Child
During an episode of the "Juicy Scoop" podcast, Kent shared her thoughts about Taylor's relationship with Brittany Cartwright, who filed for divorce from her husband in August 2024.
"You know, I’m very proud of her. Just what she does on a regular basis for her life. You know, she doesn’t have… Jax is not helpful. He does not contribute in any way, shape or form. I don’t care if he hears me say that, either. This is a fact," Kent said.
“And she wakes up, hustles her -ss off, provides for her son. And I just have a lot of respect for her," she continued.
Jax Taylor Tells Kent To Stay Out Of His Business
Taylor, who met Kent in 2015 during season 5 of "Vanderpump Rules," replied to her remarks about his parenting in a new interview. According to him, he hasn't been around the reality star and mother of two enough in recent months for her to fully understand what she's speaking about.
"I have to disagree. Lala has not been around in a very long time,” Taylor said. "The only time I’ve seen [Lala] around is at Brittany’s birthday party.”
He continued, wondering why Kent would repeat false claims about him as a father, considering the "House of Villains" star spends quality time with his son several days a week.
“I don’t know why she would say that. It’s 100% not true. Right now, I see Cruz every other day – three or four times a week with him," Taylor explained. "I take him to school. I don’t know what else I can do at the moment until the divorce is final, but I see him at least three times a week. I help out as much as I can.”
Taylor slammed Kent for "speaking on other people's kids" before saying she "doesn't know what's going on behind closed doors."
"She worded it, ‘I basically do nothing.’ That’s 100% not true. I help as much as I can that Brittany allows me. That’s all I can do. I’m the father. She’s the mother. She calls the shots," he finished.
Cartwright Filed For Divorce From Jax Taylor
On an episode of their shared podcast, "When Reality Hits," Taylor and Cartwright first announced they were spending time apart to determine whether they should stay together.
"I'm taking one day at a time. I don't know what the future holds, but right now, my focus is on being the best mom to Cruz, and I love you guys. Pray for us, and everything will be just fine. We're good," Cartwright said at the time.
However, in August 2024, the reality star officially filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences.
Taylor And Cartwright Have Reached A Deal Regarding Custody
After filing for divorce, Taylor and Cartwright began discussing custody arrangements for their son, Cruz.
Initially, Taylor "made errors" in his filing that awarded Cartwright full custody of their young child.
However, the reality star's reps clarified his intentions and declared the mistakes would be "amended without delay."
Later, it was reported that the pair had "already long resolved all matters related to custody of Cruz" and that they'd continue co-parenting "for the best interest of their son."
Taylor Says He's A 'Narcissist'
During his separation journey with Cartwright, Taylor also spent some time in an in-patient wellness center working on the personal issues he discussed in earlier episodes of "The Valley."
Once he departed the facility and returned to his podcast, the "Pump Rules" star told his listeners that he learned a lot about himself, including "five new terms" that supposedly describe his nature.
"I've done them all for years and had no idea. I am a narcissist, yes. I breadcrumb, I love bomb, and also gaslighting. I'm missing some, but I do all these things. I had no idea there were terms for these things," Taylor revealed.
"So yes, I have to humble myself and say, 'Do you think you're a narcissist?' And I do. I don't know how I became one, but I do believe I'm a narcissist," he continued.
When it airs in 2025, Season 2 of "The Valley" will feature all of Cartwright and Taylor's behind-the-scenes antics. According to the show's executive producer, it will be an "insane" batch of episodes that will have viewers gripped from the start.
