Mauricio Umansky’s Aspen Skiing Accident Lands Him In The Hospital

Mauricio Umansky was hospitalized on Friday after suffering a skiing accident that left him with a broken clavicle.

Aspen has been a frequent getaway for Umansky in recent months. Just days before the accident, he was spotted in the Colorado town kissing model Klaudia K.

His time on the slopes has also overlapped with encounters with his estranged wife, Kyle Richards, whom Mauricio Umansky separated from in 2023.

The "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star took to Instagram to share the news with his followers, offering a glimpse into his recovery process.

“I feel so blessed to be taken care of by such amazing humans. Ski patrol, paramedics, Aspen Hospital, you’re all the best,” Umansky wrote atop a selfie from his hospital bed.

The 54-year-old real estate mogul also posted an X-ray image showing the extent of his injury.

“Let’s get this surgery done so I can heal. Play hard sometimes you get hurt. But the care here has been incredible,” he added.

Shortly after, Umansky shared a video of himself being transported off the snowy mountain by ski patrol. His arm was visibly in a sling, though he did not provide further details about how the accident occurred.

Despite their split last year, Kyle and Mauricio have yet to officially start the divorce process. Kyle made a surprising revelation during her recent appearance on "Watch What Happens Live," shocking host Andy Cohen and the audience by stating that a conversation about divorce had yet to come up.

Richards explained that she and Umansky are currently living separate lives but have not had formal discussions about legally ending their marriage. That said, Kyle has taken a few public jabs at Mauricio recently, including during an episode of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," where she agreed that he was "probably" going through a midlife crisis.

Over the past year and a half, Mauricio has been spotted with several famous women, fueling speculation about his dating life. Among them was his "Dancing with the Stars" partner Emma Slater, though both repeatedly denied any romantic involvement.

However, during episode 2 of season 14 of "RHOBH," Sutton Stracke revealed that Umansky had replaced Richards' picture with Slater's. co-stars Kathy Hilton and Erika Jayne, leaving them visibly shocked. According to Stracke, Umansky had once kept a picture of Richards on his home office desk, but it was later swapped out for a photo of him with Slater. Stunned by the change, Stracke claimed that the swap deeply hurt Richards.

"I mean, at that point, for me, I'm like, 'Bye, Mauricio.' But I don't think Kyle did that. I just think she was hurt and kind of hopeful. Hurt and hopeful," Stracke shared, suggesting that if she were in Kyle’s position, this would have been the final straw in their relationship.

Richards' co-stars did not hold back their frustration toward Umansky, with Kathy Hilton exclaiming, "Are you serious? It would be one thing taking it down. But to then put that up? Come on."

Jayne, who previously competed on "DWTS," admitted she had a 8x10 photo of her and her dance partner but noted that, unlike Umansky, she would never display it in her home.

Jennifer Tilly weighed in on the situation, calling the photo swap "deliberate" and accusing Umansky of being "passive-aggressive." She pointed out that he knew Richards would eventually see the new picture on his desk, making the switch all the more questionable.

Garcelle Beauvais also voiced her disapproval, arguing that if Umansky no longer wanted Richards’ photo in his office, he had better alternatives. "Replace it with a picture of you and the kids. Not you and the dance partner... That's not OK. That's bullsh-t," she declared.

Despite their separation, Richards and Umansky continue to spend time together for the sake of their children.

In December, the two were seen walking arm-in-arm with their daughter, Farrah, as they strolled through Aspen on Thursday evening on their way to dinner, according to TMZ.

Before her arrival in Aspen, Richards revealed she was planning to go skiing with her daughters, Farrah, Portia, Sophia, and Alexia, and noted that Umansky was welcome to join them if he wished. The family has long celebrated holidays in Aspen, a tradition they maintained even after their 2023 split.
