The NFL superstar's mother shared the news of her father's passing with a heartfelt tribute celebrating his life.
"Hard to find the words of holding my father's hand as he goes to Heaven. I know he's in a better place. I love you daddy. Well done, good and faithful servant!" Randi wrote on her Instagram page.
Randy's death comes shortly after Mahomes's mom urged the Chiefs Kingdom to send well wishes, thoughts, and prayers to their family as Randy spent his last days at the hospice. She made this revelation days leading up to the Chiefs AFC Championship Game against the Buffalo Bills.
TMZ shared that a few months ago, Randi revealed that her father had been hospitalized and was not in good health, although she chose not to disclose the specifics of his condition.
She expressed how meaningful it was for her to be by his side while they watched Mahomes compete against the Los Angeles Chargers in September.

Mahomes grandfather's loss could not have come at a worse time as the athlete is still reeling from the loss of his team. He was reportedly torn over the defeat in the locker room on Sunday evening.
"Mahomes was at his stall, a few lockers inside of the Chiefs' locker room doors," The Blast gathered from Sports Illustrated's Matt Verderame report on Monday, February 10.
The reporter continued that Mahomes was "sitting, facing the wall, Mahomes wasn't scrolling through his phone. He didn't touch the two full bottles of water in reach of his left hand. In a daze, Mahomes wasn't wearing his red shoes or socks. No slides. He wasn't chatting with teammates."
Verderame described a moment highlighting Mahomes's frustration following a disappointing defeat in Kansas City's bid for a three-peat. After shaking the towel from his hair, the athlete emphatically slammed the wooden lid of his footlocker shut, echoing the disappointment of the game.
He then stood up, shoes in hand, brushed past several media members, and entered Andy Reid's office. The NFL player quietly closed the door behind him, effectively disappearing for the night.
The NFL Star Admitted That They Got Outplayed During The Game

Despite the disappointment, Mahomes addressed the press following the game and accepted complete accountability for the loss. They outperformed us from beginning to end," Mahomes stated to the media.
He explained that they did not get off to the ideal start desired by the team. Mahomes admitted that the turnovers were detrimental to the team's success.
"I take all the blame for that. Those turnovers swing the moment of the game and they capitalized on them. They scored on one and got a touchdown immediately after another. That's 14 points I gave them. It's hard to come back from that in the Super Bowl," Mahomes concluded.

Mahomes noted that he struggled under intense pressure from the Eagles' defense, suffering six sacks and throwing two costly interceptions.
In the second quarter of the game, Philadelphia's cornerback Cooper DeJean intercepted a pass and returned it for a touchdown, extending the Eagles' lead to 17-0.
"There's things I have to get better at, and they kinda showed today on the biggest stage," Mahomes admitted to the reporters after the game.
"I have to find a way this offseason to combat what defenses are doing to me. I can't make bad plays worse ... That's why I take ownership in this loss more than probably any loss in my entire career because I put us in the bad spot," the athlete concluded.
