Kylie Kelce is standing by her choice to give her daughters gender-neutral names, despite facing criticism from others.

The wife of Philadelphia Eagles legend Jason Kelce, who announced her pregnancy in November 2024, recently shared insights into the couple’s unique baby-naming approach.

Their fourth child is on the way, and while finding the perfect name has been challenging, Kylie Kelce remains firm in her belief that a name should fit the child, not societal expectations.

As The Blast reported, the former field hockey player plans to use another gender-neutral name, continuing the trend of her other three girls.

“We're doing a little crossover action,” she explained last month. “I feel like we have to lean a little bit towards those sort of gender-neutral names for our fourth because we have Wyatt, Elliotte, Bennett. So if we do a full commit to a girly name at this point, it would not sit well with the other three, I think. Eventually, they'll be like, ‘Why did they get a cute girly name?’ ”

One name that the pair seriously considered in the past was Charlie. “We debated Charlie for our first, and then within, I think, six months, we had three different friends who named their kid Charlie,” Kylie explained. “This was six years ago. And Jason and I were like, ‘Shoot.’ ”

“Wyatt is a Wyatt, but I love the name Charlie,” she added.

Kylie Kelce Stands By Gender-Neutral Names

During an appearance on the "Call Her Daddy" podcast on Wednesday, February 12, Kylie addressed the backlash she and Jason have received for choosing gender-neutral names for their daughters.

"When we were having our first daughter, people told me don’t tell people what you’re going to name your kid because then you get reactions," she recalled. "And I’m like, ‘I don’t think you understand, I really don’t care at that point.’ If I’ve chosen, we’re going with it."

Backlash Surrounding Wyatt's Name

One of the biggest reactions from the public came after naming their firstborn Wyatt.

"We had that situation with Wyatt, our oldest is Wyatt. People are disturbed by the fact that we’ve named her Wyatt," Kylie shared. "She’s very much a Wyatt. Anyone that meets her is like, ‘Oh, that’s a Wyatt.’”

Kylie also joked that their gender-neutral name choices might actually benefit their daughters in the professional world. "You know what? Her emails are going to be answered so fast," she quipped. "Kiss my a--. Facts."

"I hope that they understand ultimately that their dad had an impact on Philadelphia in a way that was wholesome and that he understood the city, enough that he wanted to stay there and raise a family there," she told the "TODAY" show co-hosts Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie. "Enough that he loves the people that he worked with and will continue to love them. And that he did things in the city for charities and things like that, he gave his blood, sweat, and tears to the city, and it was out of sheer love and commitment, and I hope they see that."

She continued, "I think that ultimately it's not about them remembering that he played football. It's all the lessons that he got from football that he gets to take with him. When he's recognized by people and they approach him and they want to take a picture, our girls are too young to understand not everyone's dad has people come up to them and want to take pictures."
