Kevin O'Leary's wife was just hit with a charge over the fatal boating accident the couple was involved in, however officials also validated the "Shark Tank" star's story about the deadly crash.
The Ontario Provincial Police charged Linda O'Leary with "careless operation of a vessel," according to the Toronto Sun.
The driver of the other vessel involved in the collision, Richard Ruh, was also charged with "failing to exhibit navigation lights while underway," after evidence pointed that the boat was dark at the time of the accident.
According to officials, it was determined that Linda was driving the boat at an unsafe speed when she slammed into the other boat, killing two passengers onboard.
Gary Poltash was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision and Suzana Brito died just days after the accident.
However, the "Shark Tank" star had maintained all along that the other vessel did not have their lights on just before the crash, making it nearly impossible to avoid a collision at 11:30 PM.
His statement at the time read:
"Late Saturday night I was a passenger in a boat that had a tragic collision with another craft that had no navigation lights on and then fled the scene of the accident. I am fully cooperating with authorities."
As we reported, Kevin O'Leary said he was "devastated" after the accident, which on Lake Joseph near Toronto on August 24th.
