Taylor Swift has been an undeniable presence in the NFL this season, with her frequent appearances at Kansas City Chiefs games and media coverage as the girlfriend of star tight end Travis Kelce. But while some fans have embraced the pop superstar's connection to the league, others feel her presence is detracting from the game, especially when it comes to the Super Bowl.

During last year’s Super Bowl, Swift was shown 11 times for a total of 55 seconds. While that may not seem excessive, her visibility throughout this season has been a talking point in NFL circles.

A recent survey suggests that Taylor Swift's influence on Super Bowl viewership is divisive.

According to Odds Assist, of those planning to watch Super Bowl LIX, opinions on Swift's impact were split:

  • 8.1% said she is a big reason they are tuning in.
  • 16.5% said she makes them want to watch slightly more.
  • 24.7% said she makes them want to watch the game less.
  • 50.8% said they are indifferent.

Because this survey only included people who plan to watch the Super Bowl, it does not account for those who may be actively avoiding the event due to Swift’s presence. However, the fact that more people (24.7%) said she makes them want to watch less than those who said she makes them want to watch more (24.6% combined) is noteworthy.

While Taylor Swift remains a massive cultural force, her impact on the Super Bowl audience is clearly divisive.

Swift attended the Chiefs' victorious Super Bowl game in February 2024. She was seen joining Kelce on the field after the team beat the San Francisco 49ers, as the pair embraced and kissed in celebration. However, it is not yet known whether Swift will make an appearance at this year's Super Bowl game, though it is likely, as she has had more free time since completing her record-breaking "Eras Tour" in December 2024.

Super Bowl LIX will feature a rematch between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles, who previously faced off in Super Bowl LVII. The Chiefs secured their spot by defeating the Buffalo Bills 32-29 in the AFC Championship, while the Eagles earned their place with a 55-23 victory over the Washington Commanders in the NFC Championship.
