Rapper and reality TV star Flavor Flav has spoken out in defense of Selena Gomez after her controversial crying video about President Donald Trump's deportation efforts.

Flavor Flav called the singer "brave" and decried how people are "quick to bully her," especially when she shares her take on issues.

Flavor Flav showed support for Selena Gomez's following the recent public outcry against her.

The singer came under fire on social media after she shared a video where she profusely sobbed over President Donald Trump's mass deportations of undocumented immigrants.

The backlash was swift, with many branding her "shallow" and "narcissistic," while a US Senate candidate called for her to be "deported."

Now, Flavor Flav, born William Jonathan Drayton Jr, has entered the conversation, defending the singer from her critics.

"Team Selena Gomez. Again," he wrote. "That woman is always so brave to share her truth... and so many are quick to bully her."

Flavor Flav's comments divided fans as some took to the comment section to support Gomez while others insisted she was to blame for the backlash.

A fan wrote, "As a proud Selenator, it's heartwarming to see Flavor Flav recognize Selena's strength and openness about her health and mental health."

Another user penned, "Flavor Flav always knows how to support his friends! It's great to see stars lifting each other up."

However, some individuals disagreed with Flavor Flav's comment, with one even calling the rapper "washed up."

"Imagine being this tone-deaf, Flav. You are washed up, buddy," one user wrote.

Another said, "She brought it upon herself by not bothering to be informed before she 'protests.' I don't like seeing it, but it's hard to defend her when she's crying over real bad people leaving our country. These aren't families being removed. These are criminals."

Selena Gomez Sympathized With Illegal Migrants

The whole controversy stemmed from a social media post the "Wizards of Waverly Place" alum made where she was seen sobbing in response to Trump's mass deportations.

"All my people are getting attacked, the children. I don't understand. I'm so sorry, I wish I could do something but I can't. I don't know what to do. I'll try everything, I promise," Gomez said in the now-deleted clip, which she captioned: "I'm sorry [Mexican flag emoji]."

Shortly after, the 32-year-old singer deleted the post, but not before garnering the ire of social media users who began slamming her on her take.

The issue also caused US Senate candidate Sam Parker to call for her deportation as he accused her of sympathizing with criminals.

"Deport Selena Gomez," he wrote on X, formerly Twitter, about Gomez's tearful video.

On another account, Parker made more controversial remarks about Gomez.

He said, "Selena Gomez picked illegals over America b/c she's the 3rd gen descendent of Mexican illegals who received citizenship in the '87 Amnesty."

"She has an entitlement attitude toward America, like her illegal g'parents. Maybe Selena should be deported, too?" Parker added.

The senate candidate's comments did not elude Gomez, who responded with few words.

On her Instagram stories, she wrote, "Oh Mr. Parker, Mr. Parker. Thanks for the laugh and the threat."

Gomez was born in the United States and is an American citizen. Her grandparents left Mexico to the country in search of a better life and the singer's family has seemingly remained ever since.

Gomez has now been urged to "go to Congress" if she wants to change the ongoing raids.

Border Czar Tom Homan said so during an appearance on Fox News, where he issued a scathing response to Gomez's video meltdown.

"If they don't like it, then go to Congress and change the law. We're going to do this operation without apology," Homan told the news outlet. "We're gonna make our community safer... It is all for the good of this nation. And we're gonna keep going. No apologies. We're moving forward."

Homan denied speculations that children are being targeted in the raids, saying that the Trump administration is working to deport illegals with criminal records.

"I don't think we've arrested any families. We've arrested public safety threats and national security threats, bottom line," he said.

Homan added, "President Trump won the election on this one issue - securing our border and saving lives. What happened on our southern border in the last four years is the biggest national security threat our county has seen, at least in my lifetime."
