Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy recently caught heat from Kansas City Chiefs player Drue Tranquill, who mocked him for losing a $1 million Super Bowl bet on the Buffalo Bills.
On Sunday night, the Bills suffered a 32-29 loss to the Chiefs, paving the way for the current Super Bowl champions to potentially have a third consecutive win this year at the event.
Dave Portnoy, who has become an outspoken critic of the Cheifs, took to X to lament about the Bills' loss, prompting a jibe from Drue Tranquill regarding his $1 million bet.
Drue Tranquill Trolls Dave Portnoy After His $1 Million Super Bowl Bet Loss

Tranquill took a break from celebrating the Chiefs' win against the Bills to dunk on Barstool Sports owner Portnoy, who has been having a meltdown online over the outcome of the Sunday night game.
Portnoy has made several social media posts criticizing the Chiefs and implying that the team had colluded with the referee to tip the game in their favor during a crucial moment.
In one post on X, Portnoy questioned, "Again, how the hell is the ref staring at Josh Allen's back the one who overrules the ref staring at the ball and who had the right spot? #BillsMafia #nflrigged."
Responding to this comment, Chiefs linebacker Tranquill took a swipe at Portnoy's loss after he bet $1 million on the Buffalo Bills to win the game.
Should have taken your $1M from #TrumpCoin and taken a nice vacation.
He didn’t get it & you know it. #GoChiefs https://t.co/jhwFAaHAd7

Tranquill quipped, "Should have taken your $1M from #TrumpCoin and taken a nice vacation. He didn't get it & you know it. #GoChiefs."
Portnoy, a Patriots fan, had revealed last week that he gained over 200 percent on his Trump Coin, which he sold for a "quick milly."
According to the New York Post, he used that money to place a bet on the Bills to win the Super Bowl at +550 odds.
Netizens Also Dunked On Dave Portnoy For 'Whining' About The Bills' Loss

In addition to Tranquill, several others criticized Portnoy's claims that the NFL is "rigged" in favor of the Kansas City Chiefs.
One person wrote on X, "Not indisputable evidence. You're a patriots fan literally simping for the bills. Have some self-respect."
Another noted, "If the NFL is rigged for the Chiefs and Dave Portnoy knows that……then why did he bet on Buffalo??"
A third person said, "Whine some more. Always have excuses, but I think it is time to accept the fact the Chiefs are better. Games are not decided by one play or call. Maybe if this was not the fourth time in a row Chiefs beat Bills in the playoffs, I would feel bad for y'all."
However, Portnoy received some support from others who believed the game was rigged for the Chiefs.
One individual said, "I wonder how much he made that night," implying the referee took a bribe.
Dave Portnoy Plans To 'Quit Football' After The Chiefs' Win

In another post, Portnoy voiced his frustration over the officiating in the Bills versus Chiefs AFC Championship game.
He shared a nearly minute-long clip highlighting a controversial fourth-and-1 call in the fourth quarter, where the Bills were stopped short.
As the video played, Portnoy ranted about the spot after Buffalo's third-down completion, the spot on fourth down, and what he believed were egregious referee errors.
Fuming over the calls, he exclaimed, "This is the most disgusting thing. I'm not watching football ever again. I quit football. I quit."
Portnoy doubled down on his decision in his caption, writing, "I'm quitting watching football. "He also attacked NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.
"There is no other way to teach @nflcommish a lesson. This is blatant cheating," Portnoy noted, ending with the hashtag #nflrigged.
He Could Have Made Over $5.5 Million If The Bills Won

Due to the Bills' defeat, Portnoy, in turn, lost a $1 million bet he had placed on them to win the Super Bowl.
In a video last week, he had announced that he made the wager as he was super confident about the Bills' chances.
To win the bet, the Bills needed to beat the Chiefs in the AFC Championship and then defeat the Eagles in the Super Bowl.
If that had happened, Portnoy would have made a $5.5 million profit—more than five times his initial stake.
Despite the loss, this isn't Portnoy's first rodeo, as he is well known for placing high-stakes wagers on high-profile games.
Dave Portnoy Accused The Kansas City Chiefs Of Cheating A Week Before Their Win

Over a week ago, Portnoy slammed Kansas City Chiefs and its quarterback Patrick Mahomes, claiming they cheated during their 23-14 victory over the Houston Texans in the NFL Divisional Round.
He joined several NFL fans in criticizing Mahomes for his actions during a play in the fourth quarter when the Chiefs were leading 13-12.
Mahomes had run out of bounds on 2nd-and-goal but slowed down before stepping out, with Houston's Henry To'oTo'o in pursuit. Upon catching up, To'oTo'o shoved Mahomes out of bounds, prompting Mahomes to raise his arms and fall to the ground, seemingly attempting to draw a penalty.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Portnoy called out Mahomes' "flopping bullsh-t," said it was "disgusting" and has damaged his reputation as a player.
