Bethenny Frankel Says 'Who Cares' In Defense Of Lauren Sánchez's Inauguration Fashion

Bethenny Frankel rushes to her good friend Lauren Sánchez's defense after her epic wardrobe choice as Jeff Bezos' plus one to the presidential inauguration.

The TV personality expressed her surprise at the waves her friend's outfit made since the Monday event and urged people to get over the situation.

After five years, Lauren Sánchez and Jeff Bezos got engaged in May 2023. The Amazon founder reportedly spent about $3.5 million on the 20-carat diamond ring.

The former "Real Housewives of New York City" alum shared her thoughts on the situation in an Instagram Reel on Wednesday. She also defended Sánchez's decision to wear a controversial outfit to the event. Frankel opened the floor with a bang, stating:

"Why can't Lauren Sanchez show a little cleavage at the inauguration? Trump's seen a boob or two in his day? What does it matter?… Who cares? She went to an event, she has boobs. It doesn't matter."

The reality star asked why it has become odd for people to be themselves and subtly opined that Sanchez can do whatever she wants since her fiancé is very wealthy. She said, "Not to mention, your fiancé is Jeff Bezos. It feels like he who makes the gold makes the rules."

She gushed about the socialite's "hot" look and warned everyone to desist from insulting her. The star referred to previous cases of stars wearing questionable outfits and the world moved on from it.

"Janet Jackson popped a t-t at the Superbowl, we all survived. Usher had no top on," the star declared in the concluding part of the video. Frankel did not hesitate to inform viewers and her fans that she has known Sanchez for over two decades, insisting "she hasn't changed one bit."

Frankel's comment garnered multiple reactions from internet users who used the opportunity to register their displeasure or otherwise. One fan commented, "Sanchez is evidence that money can't buy you class." Another made their disappointment known writing:

"I have loved and admired you from day one. It saddens me to hear you so flippantly say, "He who makes the gold rules." That certainly sums up the current state of our nation. Some, like you, use their gold to help humanity. Others? Not so much."

One more commenter cautioned Frankel to not make excuses for her friend, stating, "Stop. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should. She wanted attention when it wasn't her day. Have some class."

"Bethenny. I know you can't be serious," wrote another Instagram user, as this follower declared that the outfit was "tasteless." A staunch fan of the reality star declared, "Take the lost Bethenny. You lose this one, and it's okay. We still love you."

When she was first spotted outside the Capitol Rotunda on the inauguration morning, Sánchez's controversial ensemble consisted of a white Alexander McQueen pantsuit paired with a long white mohair coat.

She looked dashing as she accompanied her boyfriend and billionaire from their car. Upon getting inside the venue, Sanchez revealed the star of the show, which instantly sent tongues wagging.

Sánchez's white lace bra, which fashionably matched the color of her main outfit, was visible and also gave way to just enough cleavage that set the internet on fire.

The author, however, aced it in the accessorizing department. She styled her dark brown tresses in a low ponytail with soft bangs. The gorgeous mother-of-three opted for minimal jewelry, including her massive engagement rock dazzling on her finger and diamond stud earrings.

The Blast shared that Bezos finally put a ring on it in May 2023 after months of rumors that he got down on one knee and proposed to the entertainment news guru.

Their romance began in 2018, and they soon started making public appearances and attending multiple events in each other's company.

Bezos and Sánchez teamed up romantically after the entrepreneur's 25-year marriage to his ex-wife, Mackenzie Scott, crashed. The couple shares four children through the course of the union.

Meanwhile, Sánchez also separated from her ex-husband and Hollywood talent mogul, Patrick Whitesell, after 13 years of marriage and two children. The couple celebrated their engagement in August 2023 with a premium party on the billionaire's luxurious $500 million yacht.

The author hopped on an interview to discuss how she was preparing for her big day. As shared by The Blast, Sanchez confessed that she spent a lot of time gathering inspiration on Pinterest, just like every other bride.

"I have to say, I do have a Pinterest — I'm just like every other bride, so I do have a Pinterest board. I'm thinking about the dress," she noted. Back in 2023, she disclosed that they were heavily leaning towards a destination wedding with their friends and families. She told Vogue:

"We're still thinking about the wedding. What it's going to be. Is it going to be big? Is it going to be overseas? We don't know yet. We've only been engaged for five months!"
