Foxx expressed a balance between being protective and allowing his children to live their lives.

He explained, "I try to be visual in that perspective, but I also understand they got to be kids. You got to let them, you know, live a life. And, you know, that type of thing."

Foxx's daughter, Corinne, married Joe Hooten in September 2024 at his home in Thousand Oaks, California, and despite having had a stroke the previous year, the "Django Unchained" star was proud to walk his daughter down the aisle.

When asked about her own parenting style, Diaz, who has young children, responded, "I mean, I have young kids, so it's a whole different thing. I talk to my kids, like, 'You know, that's not available. I know you really, really want it. I understand. It's not available.'"

Despite the gravity of the situation, Foxx was reluctant to accept that he had suffered a stroke.

His therapist advised him, "You need to kill the old Jamie so the new Jamie can thrive."

Reflecting on the experience, Foxx said, "God blessed me with money and fame, but when I forgot about God, He blessed me with a stroke."

As he made his return to public life, Foxx knew humor would be key to his recovery.

"I knew I had to get back and realized the way to do it was by being funny," Foxx told Norton in the episode preview. "I told so many jokes people thought I was mad, and then I would act as someone else – for three whole days I was Denzel Washington."
