The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, has shared a piece of good news regarding her cancer diagnosis on social media.

Princess Kate revealed she is now in "remission" and looking forward to recovery after spending most of last year out of the limelight.

The news is a great relief to her well-wishers after she announced earlier in 2024 that she was undergoing treatment for an undisclosed form of cancer.

Kate Middleton Thanks Royal Marsden For Taking Care Of Her

On Tuesday, Princess Kate posted a personal message to The Royal Marsden Hospital in London, where she had treatment for her cancer diagnosis.

She began by thanking the renowned healthcare center for "looking after" her while she was sick.

The princess wrote, "I wanted to take the opportunity to say thank you to The Royal Marsden for looking after me so well during the past year."

She continued, "My heartfelt thanks goes to all those who have quietly walked alongside William and me as we have navigated everything."

Princess Kate described the care she received at the medical facility as "exceptional." She wrote, "We couldn't have asked for more. The care and advice we have received throughout my time as a patient has been exceptional."

Prince William and Princess Kate were announced as joint patrons of The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust on Tuesday after she made a surprise visit to the facility on the same day.

In her post, she expressed her desire to support the hospital's quest for "groundbreaking research and clinical excellence."

The 43-year-old wrote, "In my new role as Joint Patron of The Royal Marsden, my hope is, that by supporting groundbreaking research and clinical excellence, as well as promoting patient and family wellbeing, we might save many more lives, and transform the experience of all those impacted by cancer."

In the concluding part of her statement, the Princess of Wales expressed her relief at being in "remission."

She wrote, "It is a relief to now be in remission and I remain focused on recovery. As anyone who has experienced a cancer diagnosis will know, it takes time to adjust to a new normal."

Princess Kate concluded, "I am however looking forward to a fulfilling year ahead. There is much to look forward to. Thank you to everyone for your continued support. C."

Kate Middleton Visits The Royal Marsden

Princess Kate accompanied her statement with a picture of her talking to a patient at The Royal Marsden.

She visited the hospital earlier in the day in what was a rare public outing for her. While at the facility, she thanked its staff for caring for and supporting her after her cancer diagnosis last year. The princess also met and interacted with those receiving treatment at the hospital.

Princess Kate also used her visit to highlight the care provided at The Royal Marsden, saying, per the BBC, "The treatments are really so different and so varied, it impacts families differently."

The princess also spoke about her experience returning to the medical facility after completing her treatment. She said, "I was just saying, coming in the front entrance here, having made so many quiet, private visits, actually it's quite nice."

Following Kate Middleton's post, many well-wishers took turns expressing delight at the news that she is in remission and prepared her for the journey ahead.

One person wrote, "Fantastic news. To all those fighting cancer, I pray for your healing and speedy recovery. Remission for all."

Another person commended Princess Kate for becoming a Patron of The Royal Marsden. They wrote, "Integrity of your words. You said you would walk with cancer fighters, hand in hand and side by side. Now, you start the actual walk at the Royal Marsden as a Patron with lived experience. HRH is admirable. Wishing HRH the best and complete holistic wellbeing."

A third person added, "The journey to recovery after treatment is often much longer than the treatment itself. Patience and lots of self-care is essential. Wonderful that you are in remission and will be helping others."

Prince William Celebrates Wife's 43rd Birthday

Kate Middleton's remission news comes five days after she celebrated her 43rd birthday on January 9.

Her husband, Prince William, marked the special occasion with an emotional tribute to her on social media in which he praised her strength and motherly love.

The Prince of Wales wrote, "To the most incredible wife and mother. The strength you've shown over the last year has been remarkable. George, Charlotte, Louis and I are so proud of you."

Prince William concluded, "Happy Birthday, Catherine. We love you. W."
