Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been criticized for putting on a show for the camera after they helped victims of the Los Angeles wildfires.
"Family Ties" alum Justine Bateman had harsh words for the couple after news of them helping those in need went viral.
However, despite the criticism from Bateman, Harry and Meghan received praise from the Mayor of Pasadena, Victor M. Gordo.
Justine Bateman Wonders If Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Are 'Politicians'
Meghan Markle and Harry are no better than ambulance chasers. What a repulsive "photo op" they achieved. They are "touring the damage"? Are they politicians now? They don't live here; they are tourists.

On Saturday, an X user reposted a FOX 11 news report featuring Harry and Meghan handing out food and essentials to fire victims.
In the post's caption, the X user labeled the Duke and Duchess of Sussex "disaster chasers" and accused them of coming out for "some new PR and attention."
Actress Justine Bateman agreed with the X user's caption and criticized the couple even further.
She wrote, "Meghan Markle and Harry are no better than ambulance chasers. What a repulsive "photo op" they achieved."
Bateman also wondered if Harry and Meghan were now into politics, writing, "They are "touring the damage"? Are they politicians now?"
The actress concluded by stressing that the royals are only tourists. She wrote, "They don't live here; they are tourists. Disaster Tourists."
Justine Bateman's Post Brings Mixed Reactions
There were mixed reactions to Bateman's post, with some people agreeing with her while others wondered why she was critical of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle even though they were trying to help.
One person wrote, "They [Harry and Meghan] represent no one except themselves. Has POTUS or Harris been down there yet? WHY ARE THEY THERE? Gross."
A second person shared a group photo featuring Harry and Meghan that was taken during their visit to the areas affected by the fire and captioned it, "Thank you!!! This morning I saw this photo and while people are losing it all, these clowns are doing group photo shots. They disgust me."
Another X user wrote, "I don't understand why anyone gives them the time of day. All I've seen them do is preach about what we should all do while they don't follow their own advice."
A fourth person added that Harry and Meghan make them "want to vomit."
Support For Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Amid Criticism
Despite the criticism targeted at Harry and Meghan, several strong voices spoke in their favor.
One of them called out Bateman for posting about the fires on X while Harry and Meghan decided to come out and help.
They wrote, "They went to feed people displaced by the fires anonymously & masked for hours, and left without anyone knowing who they really were. You've basically been on Twitter, complaining & lying the entire time the fires have been burning. Kind of says it all."
A second person echoed similar sentiments, writing, "Gurl you sound pressed, is everything alright by the house? You're a pissed off keyboard warrior, and you talk ill of people who are on the ground helping. Now put your right hand in your chest and say "Ndiligqwirha" because wtf... you want relevance."
A third person shared screenshots of Bateman's posts asking people to pray amid the Los Angeles fires. They captioned the post, "And you are just offering prayers?!"
A fourth X user shared an image: "When your hatred for Harry and Meghan overrides your compassion for fire victims, congratulations —you've officially lost your humanity."
Prince Harry And Meghan Visit Pasadena Convention Center
Last Friday, the Sussex royals were spotted showing support to victims of the Los Angeles wildfires at the Pasadena Convention Center, which now serves as a shelter for persons displaced by the Eaton Fire.
The New York Post reported that Harry and Meghan met with affected families and first responders. They also helped to serve meals to evacuees outside the center.
The royal couple spoke to elderly residents and families directly impacted by the deadly fires and to José Andrés, whose organization, WCK, has been helping distribute food to fire victims and first responders at temporary food stations across Los Angeles County.
According to reports, Harry and Meghan didn't want to draw media attention or disrupt relief efforts with their visit, which was aimed at providing meaningful assistance to the community.
Mayor Of Pasadena Hails Harry And Meghan
Mayor Victor Gordo praised Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's genuine commitment to supporting the community.
He said the couple's act of service wasn't a publicity stunt and shed more light on their activities during the visit.
Gordo added, "And then they wanted to go visit the first responders and personally thank them for their efforts to help our families and our neighbors. They really buoyed the spirits of the first responders."
