"Heartbroken beyond words," Paris began in a lengthy post on social media. "Sitting with my family, watching the news, and seeing our home in Malibu burn to the ground on live TV is something no one should ever have to experience. This home was where we built so many precious memories. It’s where Phoenix took his first steps and where we dreamed of building a lifetime of memories with London."

According to local affiliate KTLA, over one thousand structures have been burned to the ground. Sadly, many of these buildings are said to be homes, but many popular restaurants and businesses have set to have been destroyed as well.

The fire reportedly started at 10:30 AM on Tuesday morning, but as of Wednesday night, the fire has exploded to over 15,000 acres with no containment.

On Wednesday morning, L.A. County Fire Chief Anthony Marrone revealed that casualties were likely higher than expected due to the speed of the blaze. He told reports that there is a “high number of people who didn’t evacuate” in time and suffered serious injuries.
