Deborra-Lee Furness's reaction to seeing her estranged husband Hugh Jackman publicly declare his romance with girlfriend Sutton Foster has been revealed.
A source close to the Australian actress said she was "relieved" to see that her suspicions were spot on, despite being told that the Marvel star and his Broadway co-star weren't a thing.
Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster's relationship has also reportedly left the "Wolverine" actor's adopted children with Deborra-Lee Furness in an awkward position.
Deborra-Lee Furness 'Relieved' To See Hugh Jackman And Sutton Foster Come Out
Jackman and his girlfriend Foster recently went public with their romance. On Monday, the couple was pictured hand-in-hand after a dinner date in Santa Monica, California.
Although the duo's relationship reportedly caused Jackman to end his 27-year marriage to Furness, his estranged wife is said to be "relieved" to see the actor finally come out with his romance after months of being "plagued with suspicions."
"Deborra-Lee feels a sense of relief, to be honest with you," a source told the Daily Mail. "She has been plagued with suspicions. She was told it wasn't true, and that they were nothing more than close friends who worked together."
"But something in her heart told her that this was not true," the insider continued. "She trusted her intuition, and her intuition was right. She finally feels at ease after getting confirmation that her fears and suspicions were warranted."
The source added that Furness "can now fully close this chapter and move on" as she "has nothing more to say" about Jackman and his "close friend" Sutton.
Hugh Jackman And Sutton Foster Were Tired Of Hiding
While Jackman and Foster's romance has been branded one of "Broadway's worst kept secret" for some time now, one person who was kept in the dark about it was Furness.
Jackman and Foster kept their relationship private. Earlier reports claimed that the "Wolverine" star was planning "a soft launch" to gauge reactions.
However, a second source told the Daily Mail that they were no longer "interested in hiding their love" and decided to go public with it.
"Enough time has passed for Hugh to stop playing games and hide his feelings and his relationship," the insider said. "They both wanted to be considerate of their exes and anyone else that might be upset, but they aren't interested in hiding."
The Marvel Star's Romance With Sutton Foster Has 'Rejuvenated' Him
The source further noted that Jackman's close pals have observed him become "rejuvenated" thanks to his romance with Foster, his co-star in "The Music Man."
"Hugh's close friends have seen a rejuvenated glow to him, and that is all thanks to Sutton," the source explained, adding that the couple "bonded over their individual marital struggles but didn't strike up a romance until he was out of the heartbreak of his relationship ending."
"Things had been very rudimentary between Deborra-Lee and Hugh after the pandemic," the insider added. "Their relationship wasn't the same. He had such a special connection with Deborra-Lee, but that is now over, and he has to do what is right for him."
The Actor's Alleged 'Affair' With Sutton Foster Caused His Split From His Wife
Jackman and Furness were married for 27 years after meeting in 1995 on the Australian TV show "Correlli" before announcing their separation in September 2023 to pursue their "individual growth."
However, late last year, a source told Us Weekly that the "Deadpool Vs. Wolverine" actor's "affair" with Foster caused his split from Furness.
"Sutton and Hugh's relationship is the reason Hugh and Deb got divorced," a source close to Foster said.
They added, "A lot of people on Broadway knew, and we kept it quiet because both of them are so nice and great people. Everyone respected their privacy. But there was an affair and overlap."
Foster, on her part, filed for divorce from her husband of 10 years, Ted Griffin, on October 25.
The "Bunheads" alum and Griffin share an adopted daughter, Emily, who is said to have met Jackman and reportedly calls him "Uncle Hugh," per New Idea.
Hugh Jackman And Deborra-Lee Furness's Kids Feel Guilty Over Welcoming Sutton Foster
Meanwhile, Jackman and Furness's adopted kids, Oscar and Ava, have seemingly been caught in the crossfire of their parent's marital woes.
According to reports, they both feel guilty about welcoming Foster into their life and are reportedly struggling to understand how to interact with her.
"It's been hard for the kids, having to welcome Sutton into their father's world with their own mixed feelings about it, while at the same time feeling guilty if they get too close," a source told Woman's Day late last year.
They added, "It's all getting a bit messy but Hugh's hoping time heals all wounds so if they can get through this holiday season without any big blow-ups, they'll be in smoother waters coming into the new year."
