Newly Engaged Selena Gomez Leaves Golden Globes Empty Handed Despite Multiple Nominations

Selena Gomez continues to be recognized for her outstanding work in television and film, but despite her undeniable talent and growing list of accolades, a Golden Globe win remains elusive.
The newly engaged actress was nominated in two categories at the 2025 Golden Globes: Best Supporting Actress for her role in the Netflix musical "Emilia Pérez" and Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy for her beloved role in "Only Murders in the Building."
However, Selena Gomez ultimately walked away without a trophy in either category.
Selena Gomez Makes Headlines For Golden Globes
Despite losing both nominations, Gomez still made headlines. One of the most talked-about moments of the night came when Gomez lost the Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy award to her co-star, Zoe Saldaña. In a category stacked with talent—including favorite Ariana Grande for her performance in "Wicked"—Saldaña emerged victorious.
Rather than showing disappointment, Gomez displayed pure joy for her co-star. As Saldaña's name was announced by "Moana" stars Dwayne Johnson and Auliʻi Cravalho, Gomez was spotted mouthing, “Zoe, Zoe, Zoe” in anticipation of the win. When the announcement was made official, Gomez stood up, jumped in excitement, and enthusiastically applauded Saldaña as she made her way to the stage.
While Gomez may have left the Golden Globes empty-handed, her class, support for her co-star, and authentic enthusiasm reminded everyone why she’s not just a star on screen, but also a beloved figure off it.
Selena Gomez Debuts Her Engagement Ring At The 2025 Golden Globes
The future Mr. and Mrs. Blanco made their highly anticipated red carpet debut at the 2025 Golden Globes, and they certainly did not disappoint. Selena Gomez and her fiancé Benny Blanco graced the Beverly Hilton Hotel in what can only be described as a Hollywood fairytale brought to life.
This marked the couple's first public appearance together since announcing their engagement last month, a moment that had fans swooning over their heartwarming love story.
Selena’s Fairytale Look
Selena channeled Disney princess vibes in a breathtaking powder-blue satin gown by Prada. The Cinderella-inspired dress featured an off-shoulder neckline with plunging details, structured geometric panels on the bodice, and an elegant attached shawl draped gracefully from the back.
She paired her ensemble with satin pumps and adorned herself with dazzling Tiffany & Co. diamonds, including an exquisite necklace and matching diamond stud earrings that perfectly complemented her iconic engagement ring.
For her glam, Selena kept it classic yet bold: her smokey eye makeup, cat-eye winged liner, and fluttering lashes created an enchanting allure. A matte mauve lip and soft pink blush completed her flawless look, making her a true red-carpet vision.
Benny Blanco mirrored Selena's elegance in a chic white Ralph Lauren suit paired with a lace floral shirt. His clean and sophisticated look beautifully complemented Selena’s fairytale aesthetic, showcasing their undeniable synergy as a couple.
