Fans have been wondering if Ryan Reynolds and his wife, Blake Lively, would show their faces at the 2025 Golden Globes amid the legal drama Lively is in with her "It Ends with Us" co-star Justin Baldoni.
Despite the mounting tensions, Reynolds has not publicly commented on the legal scandal. However, he seemingly made his feelings known by reportedly blocking Baldoni on social media.
Ryan Reynolds, who married Blake Lively in 2012 and shares four children with her, remains silent on the matter as the legal battle continues to unfold.
Will Ryan Reynolds And Blake Lively Show Up To The Golden Globes?
Reynolds and his wife, Lively, will not be attending the Golden Globes this Sunday despite Reynolds' nomination for "Deadpool & Wolverine," Page Six has confirmed.
The Marvel Studios blockbuster, which earned $1.33 billion worldwide, is nominated in the Cinematic and Box Office Achievement category. Reynolds’ co-star Hugh Jackman is also expected to skip the awards ceremony in Los Angeles, according to Deadline.
However, a source close to the couple told Page Six that Reynolds and Lively’s decision to sit out the event was made well before the legal drama involving Lively and her "It Ends with Us" co-star Baldoni became public. The insider emphasized that their absence has nothing to do with the ongoing scandal.
The exact reason for their decision not to attend remains unclear. The source also noted that Lively’s film, "It Ends with Us," is not nominated, nor was she scheduled to present at the event.
Blake Lively's Ongoing Legal Battle
The couple’s absence comes just weeks after Lively accused Baldoni of sexual harassment in a scathing legal complaint. The "Gossip Girl" alum alleged that Baldoni had to be reprimanded in an "all-hands" meeting—attended by Reynolds—for making inappropriate sex-related comments, including discussions about his past "porn addiction" and sharing explicit images of women.
Lively also claimed Baldoni hired a crisis manager to launch a social media campaign aimed at tarnishing her reputation. In her legal filings, she included text messages allegedly sent by Baldoni’s crisis team, one of which chillingly stated, "You know we can bury anyone."
Justin Baldoni Denies The Accusations
Baldoni has strongly denied the accusations through his attorney, Bryan Freedman, who called the claims "intentionally salacious" and aimed at damaging Baldoni’s public image. Freedman went on to allege that Lively’s legal action was a "desperate attempt" to salvage her own reputation after a series of controversial public appearances and interviews.
Freedman also confirmed that Baldoni plans to file a lawsuit against Lively in the near future. Additionally, Baldoni has already filed a $250 million libel suit against The New York Times, accusing them of misrepresenting details of the legal feud.
In one of the more explosive claims from Baldoni’s lawsuit, it was alleged that Reynolds confronted Baldoni on set after believing the director had "fat-shamed" Lively. Baldoni reportedly asked an on-set trainer about Lively’s weight due to concerns about a physically demanding scene requiring him to lift her. The suit claims the confrontation was so intense that Baldoni felt compelled to repeatedly apologize.
Nikki Glaser Says She Won't Be Addressing Justin Baldoni Lawsuit During Golden Globes
As the highly anticipated 2025 Golden Globes approach, all eyes are on comedian Nikki Glaser, who’s set to host the star-studded awards show this Sunday, January 5. Known for her fearless humor and razor-sharp wit, Glaser has already made waves with her headline-grabbing Tom Brady joke during his Netflix roast.
With Hollywood buzzing over the ongoing legal tensions between "It Ends with Us" co-stars Lively and Baldoni, fans have been curious if Glaser will tackle the controversy during her opening monologue. However, in a recent interview with Yahoo! Entertainment, Glaser shut down any speculation.
"I think the Blake Lively–Justin Baldoni thing is such a hot-button issue right now that even a mere mention of it will seem like I could be on the wrong side of things, even though I would never be," Glaser explained.
Never one to hold back, Glaser also shared her unfiltered thoughts on Baldoni. "I also don't want to give his name any— I'm mad I even know his name, to be honest with you, so I don't need to say it anymore."
The 2025 Golden Globes are taking place on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at 8 p.m. EST.
