Lauren Sánchez's Tanning Session On Jeff Bezos' $500M Yacht Halted By Law Enforcement

Lauren Sánchez's New Year's Eve sunbathing on Jeff Bezos' $500 million superyacht, Koru, took an unexpected turn when law enforcement boarded for a three-hour customs search.

This incident follows a recent headline in which Bezos denied December rumors of an impending Aspen wedding with Sánchez.

The speculation was not entirely baseless, given that Jeff Bezos proposed to Lauren Sánchez in 2023 with a stunning 20-carat pink diamond, symbolizing a new chapter in their five-year relationship.

Anchored off the coast of St. Barts, the yacht's glamorous holiday vibe was momentarily halted as officers combed through the vessel. 

With Bezos notably absent from the vessel, the officers, clad in black life jackets and carrying inspection equipment, were seen speaking with a stewardess who appeared to guide them through the yacht. 

While officials combed through the opulent vessel, Sánchez did not let the commotion dampen her spirits. Pictures obtained by Page Six captured the 55-year-old striking a smile in a Versace bikini, black sarong, and oversized hat as she posed on the top deck of the luxury ship.

Guests seemed largely unfazed by the three-hour operation—save for a brief conversation between a redheaded stewardess and Sánchez. According to a cited source, inspections like this are deemed "routine," though the visit added a dose of drama to Sanchez's sunbathing session.

Sánchez's celebrations aboard her fiancé's superyacht featured more than luxurious sunbathing and customs inspections. It also included a reunion with her ex-boyfriend Gonzalez, with whom she shares a son, Nikko.

The 48-year-old joined Sánchez on the lavish vacation, showcasing his athletic build as he took a refreshing swim in the pristine waters of St. Barts. Despite their romantic past, Sánchez has reportedly described the NFL star as one of her closest confidants. 

The pair seem to have maintained a warm friendship over the years, even as Sánchez co-parents her two other children with ex-husband Patrick Whitesell.

The luxury yacht excursion followed a media frenzy fueled by rumors of a wedding in Aspen, which Bezos quickly shut down.

The Blast noted that the reports, which claimed the pair would marry in a lavish ceremony on December 28, were dismissed by the businessman himself. He took to X (formerly Twitter) to label the story "completely false."

Bezos slammed the swirling speculation, stating, "The old adage 'don't believe everything you read' is even more true today than it ever has been. Now lies can get ALL the way around the world before the truth can get its pants on. So be careful out there, folks, and don't be gullible."

He further explained, "Will be interesting to see if all the outlets that 'covered' and re-reported on this issue a correction when it comes and goes and doesn't happen."

Although Bezos has firmly denied rumors of an impending wedding to Sánchez, the former broadcaster has previously expressed her excitement about their upcoming nuptials.

On "The Today Show" in November, Sánchez hinted at her wedding planning journey, confessing to having a Pinterest board filled with ideas.

"I have to say, I do have a Pinterest — I'm just like every other bride," Sánchez shared, adding that she has been exploring various options for her dream wedding dress. 

Her playful Pinterest confession followed a November 2023 interview with Vogue, in which Sánchez opened up about her and Bezos' wedding plans. She noted that they were considering a destination wedding but admitted:

"We're still thinking about the wedding. What it's going to be. Is it going to be big? Is it going to be overseas? We don't know yet. We've only been engaged for five months!"

Since they began dating in 2018, Bezos and Sánchez's romance has been nothing short of captivating. Their relationship went public in early 2019, just after Bezos' highly publicized divorce from ex-wife MacKenzie Scott.

Engagement rumors began circulating in the same year after Sánchez was spotted wearing a stunning heart-shaped ring. But it was not until 2023 that Bezos finally popped the question aboard his $500 million mega-yacht. 

Describing the proposal to Vogue, Sánchez admitted, "When he opened the box, I think I blacked out a bit." Apart from the 20-carat pink diamond ring, valued at an estimated $2.5 million, what truly caught her off guard was how Bezos had secretly placed the ring under her pillow.
