Lil Wayne Moves To Examine Mental State Of Ex-Security Guard Suing Him

Lil Wayne and his legal team have stepped up their defense, requesting an independent medical evaluation of former security guard Christian Carlos amid an ongoing legal battle.

This development comes nearly three years after Carlos accused the rapper of brandishing a firearm during a December 2021 altercation. Initially, Carlos decided against pressing charges but later reversed his stance, reigniting the case.

The legal battle has since unfolded, with Lil Wayne's team now questioning Christian Carlos' mental state as part of their strategy.

The artist, born Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., filed the motion after Carlos alleged he suffered significant emotional harm. 

The requested evaluation would be conducted by a board-certified psychiatrist and include a clinical interview, a mental status examination, and standardized psychological testing.

Wayne's legal team argued the exam is essential, seeing as Carlos "unequivocally placed his mental condition" at the center of his case by seeking damages for emotional distress.

InTouch reports that Wayne also asked the court to impose $4,475 in sanctions on Carlos for failing to comply with prior requests to undergo the evaluation. The star's team reportedly clarified that no physical exam would be conducted, ensuring the focus remains on Carlos' mental health claims.

This latest development follows Carlos' reversal of his decision not to press charges in the December 2021 gun brandishing incident. The guard had initially called authorities but opted not to press charges, only to change his stance later.

The Blast revealed in 2022 that Carlos' sudden reversal raised eyebrows, especially since he was the one to involve law enforcement in the first place. 

His accusations subsequently included claims that Wayne struck him in the face and head. He was also reportedly considering filing an assault charge. It was reported that the inconsistencies in the guard's story might weaken his case, as authorities were yet to follow up with Wayne. 

ICYMI, the incident allegedly occurred on December 6 at Wayne's Hidden Hills home, where the rapper was accused of flashing an AR-15 during a heated dispute.

Reports suggested the argument started after Wayne accused his former guard of taking unauthorized photos of him and leaking them to the media. Tensions rose when the guard returned from the restroom to find a visibly upset Wayne.

Following the heated exchange, the guard left the property and reported the incident to authorities. Wayne's team firmly denied the accusations, asserting that the father-of-four did not have a firearm.

Although there were no visible injuries to support his claims, Carlos maintained that the incident occurred but chose not to press charges.

Despite his status as a legendary artist, Wayne has faced his share of setbacks. The latest was the news that he would not headline the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show in New Orleans.

The honor instead went to Kendrick Lamar, leaving the five-time Grammy winner and his fans disappointed. The Blast reported that the 42-year-old broke his silence in September with a heartfelt Instagram video. 

Speaking candidly, Wayne admitted the news left him shattered. The songwriter confessed he had mentally placed himself on the Super Bowl stage, believing it was the perfect opportunity to represent his city.

"That hurt, hurt a whole lot. I blame myself for not being mentally prepared for a let-down," he shared. Wayne also credited his fans for helping him through the pain, reminding him of his worth.

"When I felt like sh-t, you guys reminded me that I ain't sh-t without y'all," he said. Determined to move forward, the rap icon reassured fans he was focusing on self-growth. 

The record executive's heartfelt response touched fans, sparking an outpouring of support and admiration. "You could never let us down," one fan wrote, while another declared, "You're the goat; they can't have you."

Wayne's followers reminded him of his legendary status with messages like, "Nothing but love and respect for the [goat emoji]. It's all good," and "YOU ABSOLUTELY DESERVED IT. WE KNOW THAT AND SO DOES EVERYONE ELSE."

"You were robbed, but we know what's up," another claimed. 

While the legal battle between Lil Wayne and his former guard unfolds amid personal disappointments, the star remains steadfast in his defense and determination to move forward.
