A new revelation has emerged in the divorce proceedings between former couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.
The duo recently settled their divorce after an eight-year legal tussle, and now sources have revealed that Pitt wanted out because he wants to get married next year.
The "Troy" actor is reportedly "relieved" to have settled the case and plans to get married again in 2025. However, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie remain at war over their Chateau Miraval winery.
Brad Pitt Reportedly Wants To Get Married Again
According to the Daily Mail, a source familiar with the situation has disclosed the underlying motive behind Pitt's push to resolve his contentious divorce dispute with ex-wife Jolie.
The insider told the news outlet that the 61-year-old actor is "relieved" about the dissolution after he was left wearied by it because he believed Jolie had been "dragging her feet" on the divorce.
They added that his intention to tie the knot in 2025 with his girlfriend, Ines de Ramon, is the reason why he chose to conclude their divorce.
"They are looking to get married in the next year and Brad has settled because he wants to keep his children on his side for his new marriage to go ahead," the insider shared. "Apparently, Ines is keen to have children too and pressured him to get it all sorted out as soon as possible."
The Actor Hopes He Can 'Build Bridges With His Children'
The "Fight Club" actor started dating Ramon about two years ago and is said to have introduced her to his close circle, including best friend George Clooney.
"Brad will be relieved that he can finally move on and marry again. He has wanted his divorce settled long before now, but he believes Angelina has been dragging her feet," another source said of the actor.
The L.A.-based insider continued, "Angelina will argue she has been fighting for the best deal for their family, but whatever the truth, it ultimately clears the path for him walking down the aisle with Ines."
"He will hope that he can build bridges with his children now that the divorce is finalized, but that looks like a long hard road," the source added.
Pitt and Jolie share three biological children: Shiloh and twins Knox and Vivienne, as well as their adopted children Maddox, Pax, and Zahara.
Brad Pitt And Angelina Jolie Reach Divorce Settlement
The source's claims come after the ex-couple reached a settlement in their contentious divorce proceeding after slugging it out for nearly a decade.
Pitt and Jolie met on the "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" film set in 2003 and started dating shortly after before getting married in August 2014.
However, the "Maleficent" actress filed for divorce after just two years, citing irreconcilable differences as the cause of their split.
According to the Daily Mail, they put pen to paper just before New Year's Eve with Jolie's divorce lawyer, James Simon, saying the actress is "relieved this one part is over."
"Frankly, Angelina is exhausted," Simon told the news outlet. "More than eight years ago, Angelina filed for divorce from Mr Pitt. She and the children left all of the properties they had shared with Mr Pitt, and since that time she has focused on finding peace and healing for their family."
The Exes Are Yet To Settle Chateau Miraval Dispute
Pitt and Jolie have, however, not settled the legal dispute over their once joint-owned Chateau Miraval winery.
In 2022, the actor sued Jolie for selling her stake in the French winery, claiming she had violated a previous agreement that granted him the right to first refusal.
According to People Magazine, he said that Jolie intentionally "sought to inflict harm on" him by selling her half of the business and also sought to damage the business's reputation by selling it to a "stranger."
"Jolie pursued and then consummated the purported sale in secret, purposely keeping Pitt in the dark and knowingly violating Pitt's contractual rights," the filing read.
Angelina Jolie And Brad Pitt Might Settle The Winery Case In Court
According to the Daily Mail, a source close to the case said the exes are willing to settle their Chateau Miraval dispute by taking the case to a jury trial or mediation.
However, Jolie might be ready to end the case as soon as possible. An insider shared that she has "been trying hard to be light after a dark time," and she doesn't "speak ill of him publicly or privately."
"The kids have grown up seeing that some people have so much power and privilege that their voices don't matter. Their pain doesn't count," the source added. "They have wanted her to speak up for herself, to defend herself over these years but she reminds them to focus on changing laws over telling public stories."
