Gal Gadot Was Diagnosed With A Massive Blood Clot In Her Brain
The "Wonder Woman" star penned a lengthy statement about her health scare on Instagram, breaking the shocking news on Sunday, December 29. She shared a picture of herself on a hospital bed, cradling her newborn daughter to her chest with one hand while the other held a coffee cup.
"This year has been one of profound challenges and deep reflections, and I've wrestled with how, or even if, to share a personal story. At the end, I decided to let my heart guide me," Gadot began.
She noted her honesty about what happened stemmed from her desire to raise awareness and support others in similar situations, adding:
"In February, during my eighth month of pregnancy, I was diagnosed with a massive blood clot in my brain. For weeks, I had endured excruciating headaches that confined me to bed until I finally underwent an MRI that revealed the terrifying truth."
The News Was A Difficult Pill To Swallow
Gadot confessed that her diagnosis was a brutal truth to accept as she and her family "were faced with how fragile life can be." The news became a "stark reminder of how quickly everything can change," and all she wanted to do was persevere and live.
"We rushed to the hospital, and within hours, I underwent emergency surgery. My daughter, Ori, was born during that moment of uncertainty and fear," the actress continued before diving into the special meaning behind her child's name. She wrote:
"Her name, meaning 'my light,' wasn't chosen by chance. Before the surgery, I told Jaron that when our daughter arrived, she would be the light waiting for me at the end of this tunnel."
The TV Personality Survived The Emotional Trial
The Israeli actress thanked the "extraordinary team of doctors" at Cedars Sinai in Los Angeles, stressing that their care and expertise ensured she overcame the emotional ordeal. "Today, I am fully healed and filled with gratitude for the life I've been given back," she penned.
Gadot advised fans to prioritize their health, noting, "It's vital to listen to our bodies and trust what it's telling us. Pain, discomfort, or even subtle changes often carry deeper meaning, and being attuned to your body can be life-saving."
Awareness was equally important. Gadot confessed that she never knew "that 3 in 100,000 pregnant women in the 30s+ age group are diagnosed with CVT (develop a blood clot in the brain)." She emphasized that it was crucial to identify this condition early, as it can be treated.
Fans Are Touched By The Former Beauty Pageant Competitor's Vulnerability
Gadot concluded her lengthy message by assuring fans that her words were "not meant to frighten anyone but to empower." She believed her experience would have been worth sharing if at least one person felt compelled to prioritize their health.
She did not have to worry, as the comment section was filled with love and support. Many thanked Gadot for sharing her story, noting they never knew about the potential dangers linked to pregnancies. "You ARE Wonder Woman! God has blessed you!" someone declared.
"This is an incredible story to share. Thank you for deciding to share it. And thank goodness you are ok. Love to you and the family," another chimed. A third echoed similar sentiments, writing:
"Happiness, blessings, and health health health to you and your beautiful family! Baruch Hashem!"
