Actress Danielle Vasinova Explores A Bold New Beauty Trend Despite Thinking It Sounds 'Disgusting'

When it comes to being red carpet ready, actress Danielle Vasinova knows her stuff.
After perfecting a skincare routine and getting regular facials, she recently embraced something new, that might be called an unconventional beauty trend by some. This particular facial, known for its supposed anti-aging and skin-rejuvenating benefits, is so unique that it's sparked both curiosity and conversation.
Vasinova had some time during the holiday week to chat with The Blast about her thoughts on this interesting sounding facial, as well as her upcoming projects, her near death experience, and how she became interested in becoming an actress in high school.
The Name Of This Facial Might Deter Some, But Not Danielle Vasinova!
When you first hear the words, “salmon sperm facial,” your first instinct might be to say, “no thank you,” or “yuck,” but once you hear the benefits, you might have a change of heart.
Vasinova explained that she was told that she had to try this facial, and her first thought was, “that sounds disgusting.” But after being told by a specialist at Done by Dorfman Beverly Hills to “just trust us,” she decided to give it a shot.
“They get me in there and I was thinking about it the whole night before. I hate needles and I was freaking out. I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, I should just cancel this,’ but I went and it was so cool,” she told The Blast exclusively. “They numbed me up, and then literally it took 15 minutes and it was done. It was so fast. I didn’t feel anything. It was not bad at all. It was me hyping it up in my own mind that was a lot worse than the actual process of it.”
The facial, which uses microneedling, has a relatively quick recovery time with the redness typically decreasing by the next day. Vasinova said her skin was a bit dry for about two days but that was about it.
“This facial is known as giving you glass-like skin and it really did improve the tone, texture, and tightening,” she said. “It’s just beautiful.”
Microneedling uses tiny needles to puncture the skin to induce collagen production. With the salmon sperm facials, Vasinova said, “topical salmon DNA is used to scrape off the dead skin cells and layer and stimulate new cell growth and collagen.”
“It’s worth it. I would say two thumbs up,” she continued. “They say it works best if you do like three sessions each a month apart.”
When asked if she’s going back for more salmon sperm facials, Vasinova said, “yes, it’s great!”
Danielle Vasinova Also Keeps Her Regular Skincare Routine Going Strong
In addition to trying out a salmon sperm facial, Vasinova keeps up with her regular skincare routine.
“I do regular facials, always make sure I take my makeup off before bed, always lather up on sunscreen and use a really good moisturizer,” she said. “I like this line called Arcona. It’s all natural.”
She reiterated that she’s pretty “religious about normal skincare and facials.” The actress shared that she once had a vampire facial, but she said the salmon sperm facial is “far less invasive.” She also said there is “far less downtime” with the salmon sperm facial than the vampire facial.
Danielle Vasinova Has Been Busy With Multiple Projects
Vasinova has been keeping busy with one project after another. In addition to being in this season of “1923,” she will also be playing the role of Kestral Harris in “The Madison,” which is the new “Yellowstone.”
“I just worked with the late George Romero’s daughter, Tina Romero, on a project called ‘Queens of the Dead,’” she said. “And also another one with Michael C. Hall and Vera Farminga called ‘The Leader.’”
Vasinova said, “All roads lead back to Montana,” as she was cast in another film called “Fracture” that will be shot in Montana in January.
So what draws the actress to a role or project?
“I love great storytelling. I love the collaborative effort of storytelling and it’s great to mix it up,” she said. “I love television and film, but as long as I’m telling a good story with good people, I’m happy.”
As for what she would love to do in 2025 that maybe she hasn’t done just yet, Vasinova said that growing up a “horse girl,” she’s always wanted to “ride on screen.”
“I would love to do something in the James Bond universe, too, the list goes on and on,” she said. “I love to work with great directors and talented actors, so the list is very long for me.”
How Acting Became Something Danielle Vasinova Wanted To Pursue In High School
When asked if she always was drawn to acting, Vasinova said that wasn’t what she wanted to do until an English class during the 11th grade.
“I was actually being groomed to be a professional jockey. They wanted me to be like the Danica Patrick of horse racing, but I talked to a bunch of jockeys and trainers and it’s not like if you’re going to get hurt, it’s when,” she explained. “And there’s a lot of pressure to make weight. There’s a lot of pressure with that and it can lead to some unhealthy lifestyles, so I was like, no.”
And then in 11th grade in Miss Chance’s English class, something peeked Vasinova’s interest in acting.
“We were reading ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ and I was playing Helena in my class. As we went around and were reading through the play, there was something. I was always very shy as a kid, but there was something about playing that character that was very freeing to me. I felt like I didn’t have to be shy because I wasn’t myself and so there was something in that that I identified with.”
That moment made her start to think what profession she could go into where she can be a lot of different characters and the thought of acting popped up.
And the rest is literally history as Vasinova has portrayed more than 40 characters throughout the course of her acting career.
A Brush With Death Gave The Actress A 'New Lease On Life'
In December 2019, Vasinova was battling COVID and became so sick that she actually flatlined for three minutes.
After the scary ordeal, Vasinova said she has a "whole new lease on life."
"Just a new appreciation for how I want to live it and what I want to do and who I want to be surrounded by," she told The Blast. "It kind of reestablished my faith in God, and it was a miracle that I even pulled through, so I'm grateful for everybody who was there for me and all the doctors and love and support I had gotten at that time."
After recovering, the "1923" actress went back to the hospital to thank one particular person who helped her.
"When I flatlined, my brother said there was, he found her name was Ruby, and she's the one that was able to get the heartbeat back before they transferred me to ICU. I was in ICU for like a month, and when I got out, I went back to the first hospital where she was at," she explained. "I said, 'Is there a Ruby that's here today?'"
After Ruby was found, she went over to Vasinova, took one look at her and her "mouth just dropped."
"She didn't even say hello. She ran over to me and gave me the biggest bear hug and she's like, oh my God you made it. She said they don't usually get to know or get to see who makes it."
Vasinova brought her a ruby necklace to say thank you.
