Singer Grimes has spoken about the circumstances surrounding her breakup with tech boss and billionaire Elon Musk.
Contrary to speculation that Musk "dumped" her, Grimes has come forward to set the record straight, asserting that she initiated the split.
Grimes and Elon Musk have been at loggerheads for over a year as the singer alleged that the Tesla founder wouldn't allow her to see their children.
Grimes Say She Wasn't 'Dumped' By Elon Musk
Grimes recently addressed speculations about her past romance with Musk. The former couple, who were together between 2018 and 2022 before they split, share three children: sons X Æ A-Xii and Techno Mechanicus and daughter Exa Dark Sideræl.
The Canadian singer made the claims about her breakup with Musk in a war of words on X with rapper Azealia Banks, who said that the billionaire had "cheated on" and "dumped" her.
"Grimezsz girl the way you are still trying to hold out on some weird a-s innocent bullsh-t years later after you got dumped, cheated on, your kids kidnapped, and still trying to paint me like the villain and act like you above me, " Banks tweeted in response to Grimes' comments on a photoshopped image of the both of them as Glinda and Elphaba from the "Wicked" movie.
"You can really quit mentioning me. I know you wish you could be my bestie but b-tch... it's f-cking boring as hell. Let it go," the rapper added.
Grimes then replied, "It's just a funny joke bro. Not trying to paint you as a villain. I didn't 'get dumped.' I bounced."
"My amazing baby is asleep in my bed beside me, I'm in love. No regrets. Life is as beautiful as you want it to be," she continued. "You're insanely talented. Even after all this, I want you to win. God bless [my lady].
Grimes Claims The Billionaire Has Become 'Unrecognizable'
Grimes' comments come after the "Oblivion" singer criticized the SpaceX boss, alleging that he prevents her from seeing their children and has become "unrecognizable" since he started supporting Donald Trump.
According to the Daily Mail, Grimes revealed she'd been in a year-long custody battle with Musk, and at some point within that time frame, she wasn't able to see one of their kids for five months.
"Spent a year locked in battle in a state with terrible mothers' rights having my Instagram posts and modeling used as reasons I shouldn't have my kids and fighting and detaching from the love of my life as he becomes unrecognizable to me, with a fraction of his resources (or IQ/ strategy experience)," Grimes wrote on X.
"All the while I didn't see one of my babies for five months. And this is only what can be said publicly since most of my experience these last years should remain behind closed doors," she added.
Elon Musk And Grimes Are Locked In A Custody Battle
The ex-couple were locked in a custody battle over their kids after Musk sued Grimes for parental rights in Texas.
In court documents last year, Musk said he intended to establish a written agreement with Grimes regarding conservatorship, possession, and access to their children.
Musk also stated in his legal filing that the suit aims to establish the "parent-child relationship" between him and the three children he shares with Grimes.
Grimes later counter-sued Musk, filing a "petition to establish parental relationship" in a California court, per the Daily Mail.
She claimed her ex-partner was preventing her from having access to her children and also stopped them from seeing their grandmother, who was terminally ill.
A Travis County Clerk has since confirmed that Musk and Grimes' dispute in Texas has been settled but didn't detail what the pair agreed on.
Elon Musk Denied Claim He Built A Texas Compound For His Kids And Their Mothers
In October, Musk slammed reports that he purchased a $35 million Texas mansion to place his blended family under one roof but revealed plans for an audacious art project in the heart of Texas.
"I don't own, nor am I building a compound in Austin," the SpaceX boss told Page Six. "No grand family compound/home has been built or is expected to be built."
However, he noted, "I do have an idea for a big futuristic art project in the Austin area that would be open to the public but have had too much work to get that going.
"I don't subscribe to NYT and haven't read the article," Musk added.
The Billionaire Admitted To Using Mounjaro For His Weight Loss
The tech boss recently shocked many on X as he took to the social media platform to admit he used Mounjaro, a weight loss drug like ozempic, to attain his new body goals.
In the post, Musk appeared to be preparing for Christmas, posing in a Santa Claus outfit by his holiday tree.
In his caption, the tech billionaire wrote: "Ozempic Santa." He followed up with another comment: "Like Cocaine Bear, but Santa and Ozempic! Technically, Mounjaro, but that doesn't have the same ring to it."
Fans were divided over Musk's admittance. Many congratulated him on it, while others were puzzled about why he took that route.
