Carrie Underwood is generating complaints after a poolside shot showing her crouching down in tight yoga pants raises eyebrows. The 38-year-old country superstar and 2005 “American Idol” winner is now as much known for her power-house workout body as she is her flawless vocals, with the CALIA by Carrie founder continuing to enjoy immense success with the athleisurewear line she founded in 2015. A promo shot of the “Southbound” singer was recently shared to the brand’s Instagram, and it looks like fans are grumbling. See why below.
Scroll for the photo, one showing the blonde looking gorgeous and head-to-toe in her uber-trendy merch. Carrie, whose brand actually ranked third after Nike and Under Armour at Dick’s Sporting Goods in 2016, was proving the label still has it in 2021. The image showed the singer kneeled down on a chic pool deck and wearing tight dark leggings with peep-hole panels, plus a white tee and sporty camo jacket worn open.
Carrie was also in Nike sneakers, with a caption using the brand’s #ChooseYou hashtag.
Looking into the distance, Carrie sent out major determination, with the brand reminding fans to “Take time to #ChooseYou – even if it means leaving some “to-dos” for tomorrow.”
The response has proven mixed. While “The BEST pants” came in from a fan, others were mentioning something that’s cropped up before. Fans seem to feel that CALIA is massively overpriced, with a user calling out Carrie over her small-time, Southern town roots and saying she even grew up near to where they live.
Clearly loving the range, but not the prices, the user wrote: “Would love to buy a few things…but why so expensive? Carrie grew up just a few hrs from where I live. She knows this area most people shop at WalMart, Target, & JC Pennys. Those cater to my budget, as I know it does to alot of us?.”
“WOW! $98 for leggings?! Can’t justify spending that for leggings, cute, but dang!” another added. “So expensive,” a fan wrote to a post made just yesterday. More photos below!
Instagram is right now dominated by celebrity merch, from reality star Kim Kardashian’s KKW Beauty and SKIMS brands, to sister Kylie Jenner’s beauty empire. The music stars are there, too. “Peaches” singer Justin Bieber comes complete with his Drew House clothing line, with singer Rihanna now richer than ever thanks to her Savage x Fenty lingerie and FENTY Beauty lines. Also dropping clothing is country singer Jessie James Decker as she retails her Kittenish brand.
Opting out of $$$, however, is “Big Bang Theory” actress Kaley Cuoco. Scroll for her “awesome” unicorn nightie from Amazon.
