Ioan Gruffudd Files For Divorce From Wife Alice Evans After 13 Years Together

By Ryan Naumann

Actor Ioan Gruffudd filed for divorce from his actress wife Alice Evans weeks after she announced their split in a messy social media post.

According to court records obtained by The Blast. the "Fantastic Four" actor filed legal documents to end his marriage in Los Angeles Superior Court. At the moment, it's unclear if Alice is asking for child/spousal support or whether the estranged couple had a prenuptial agreement that laid out who got what property in case of a split.

Back in January, Alice announced Ioan had decided to leave their family in a Twitter statement. She wrote, "My beloved husband/soulmate of 20 years, Ioan Gruffudd, has announced he is to leave his family, starting next week. Me and our young daughter's girls are very confused and sad."

Alice ended, "We haven't been given a reason except that he 'no longer loves me.' I'm so sorry.”

The actress was showered with support from fans after she claimed Ioan blindsided her with the news.

Alice eventually deleted the message and the couple released a joint statement. It read, "As you can imagine, this is an incredibly difficult time for our family and we remain committed to our children. Thank you for respecting our privacy."

The couple met on the set of the 2000 film 102 Dalmatians. They married in June 2007. Alice and Ioan share two daughters.

Last month, Alice provided her followers with an update on her life situation. She said she read the comments on a Daily Mail story and was sent into a spiral.

She said, "I shouldn’t have done, but I had had three glasses of delicious wine, ( It’s called ‘Butter’, that’s all I know!) and my guard was down."

"Thank you for your kind comments. As for the unkind ones, I get it. It must be weird to comprehend why somebody would share their pain on social media rather than with their nearest and dearest."

She added, "I get that. You must think I’m an asshole. I’m not though. I don’t have a mum, or a dad. I don’t have any close friends in LA. I’ve looked after my kids for half their lives alone. My husband knows that. We are indeed discussing legal separation, but we are still friends. You can say what you want about me being an attention seeker but you know it’s not true."

"You just want a reason to put me down. Please - go ahead. I’m impenetrable ❤️," the actress ended.
