'Vanderpump Rules' James Kennedy Regains Freedom After Domestic Violence Arrest

Bravolebrity James Kennedy recently got into trouble with the law over a heated argument with an unidentified woman.

The "Vanderpump Rules" star was arrested for misdemeanor domestic violence on Tuesday night following a call about his fight with a woman.

It is unclear if the woman involved in the incident is his girlfriend, Ally Lewber, or if she was present during James Kennedy's arrest. The couple has been dating since January 2022, launching their romance weeks after the reality TV star broke up with his former fiancée, Rachel Leviss.

According to law enforcement sources, Burbank police officers were dispatched to a home in the area following a concerning call. Dispatch received a call about an argument between Kennedy and a woman.

A witness reportedly saw the Bravo star arguing with the woman and grabbing her at one point. However, officers noted they did not find any visible injuries on the alleged victim. Nonetheless, after investigating the situation, law enforcers determined it was a domestic violence incident.

On that note, Kennedy was arrested for misdemeanor domestic violence, but he secured his freedom after posting a $20,000 bail. The incident appeared to have occurred after the TV personality and his girlfriend attended a holiday party at Kathy Hilton's home, per TMZ.

While Kennedy had yet to address his domestic violence arrest, sources noted the Burbank City Attorney's Office was currently reviewing his case. Prosecutors might decide to press charges against him depending on the outcome of their investigations.

The woman's identity in the incident remained a mystery at the time, and she may or may not have been Lewber. She and Kennedy began dating in January 2022, six weeks after the entertainer broke off his engagement to his "Vanderpump Rules" castmate.

Lewber and Kennedy first met at a concert for Tom Sandoval's band, The Most Extras. They raved about their bond on the Bravo show's season 10 reunion, with Lewber confessing that she knew her lover's identity as a fan. "I gave him a chance to really show me who he is," she gushed, per PEOPLE.

When questioned about how quickly their relationship began after Kennedy's broken engagement, the Bravolebrity defended their romance, saying, "I think everyone processes breakups differently. For me, it was enough time."

Lewber echoed similar sentiments, adding, "We definitely both went into it planning to take things slow. I mean, we did jump into it, but a lot of conversations were had about it."

She and Kennedy became Instagram official in March 2022 and made their red-carpet debut at the 2022 iHeartRadio Music Awards. In June 2023, when they moved in together, the DJ and the Hellenistic astrologer took their relationship to the next level.

Kennedy purchased a luxurious home in Burbank, California, and invited Lewber to live with him. They live with two cats and a dog named Hippie (formerly Graham).

Following news of Kennedy's arrest, two people did not seem surprised about the misdemeanor domestic violence incident. The entertainer's former flames — his former fiancée Rachel Leviss and his ex-girlfriend Kristen Doute — implied the situation was a long time coming.

Doute shared a screenshot of a news article detailing Kennedy's arrest on her Instagram Story alongside the caption: "Finally." She and the media personality dated between 2013 and 2015, a tumultuous relationship that was documented on several seasons of the Bravo show.

Meanwhile, Kennedy's former fiancée addressed the incident through her attorneys, Mark Geragos and Bryan Freedman. They told TMZ:

"This news is, unfortunately, not surprising. Rachel's lawsuit describes, in significant detail, Mr. Kennedy's long history of erratic, violent behavior and substance abuse."

While Kennedy's exes seemed happy about his arrest, his girlfriend's reaction to the news was uncertain. Lewber had not addressed the incident but made her first public appearance at the Windsor Pre-New Year's Eve party.

Lewber co-hosted the event at the Short Stories Hotel in Los Angeles and shared glimpses of her time with fans on Instagram. On Wednesday night, she shared short clips of herself walking the red carpet and doing interviews, but there was no sign of Kennedy.

Despite her solo appearance, Lewber was all smiles for the camera. She stunned in festive number, rocking a black dress with a tempting thigh-high slit and gold snowflakes. She completed the holiday theme with statement sparkly earrings and black strappy heels, per PageSix.
