A controversy is brewing in New York City schools as students as young as eight were caught sharing off-color jokes inspired by rapper Sean "Diddy" Combs.

Parents are worried about how their kids got to know about the whole issue and how much detail they know, calling for the school to place a ban on Diddy's name.

Sean "Diddy" Combs has been accused of running a criminal empire and forcing women to participate in drug-fuelled sex parties known as "freak offs."

New York City public school children are reportedly making raunchy jokes and comments in class inspired by embattled rapper Diddy.

According to the New York Post, their parents are worried and upset over the "heartbreaking" trend and want Diddy's name banned from schools altogether.

An 8-year-old school kid's mom, Vanessa Mejia, was left in "shock" when her daughter, a third-grader at PS 11 in Chelsea, told her that one of her classmates yelled, "Welcome to my Diddy party!" in class last week.

"I was just extremely shocked by it because these kids are so young," Mejia told the news outlet. "And then my second thought was, who knows how much information this boy had on the whole [Diddy] situation? Because if he is well-informed, did he really mean to say that? Or was it that he didn't know what it meant?"

Mejia went further to explain that her daughter had heard of the name Diddy but isn't knowledgeable of the allegations and details surrounding his September 16 arrest outside a New York hotel.

"It's not kid-friendly information," she said. "So if that little boy knows more information about [Diddy] than he should, who knows what is going to be told to all the other kids?"

"I think it would be a good idea to ban kids from uttering Combs' name in schools altogether," Mejia added.

Other parents seem to share Mejia's sentiment and are calling for actions to be taken against Diddy's name being mentioned in schools.

"It's terrible. . . . kids are making fun of a situation that has harmed a lot of people. I don't think that has a place here, and it should be addressed," said Jose Luis Guerra, whose son and daughter go to the school.

Jess, the mother of a 10-year-old girl in fifth grade, said, "Kids don't need to know" certain things like Diddy's case.

Other parents have also taken the crusade online, with one woman writing that the situation "is something that is becoming a regular saying among middle school kids" as they think it's "hilarious."

It remains to be seen what the next line of action will be as more parents cry out over their kids' use of Diddy's name as a joke in school.

However, the Department of Education spokesperson Jenna Lyle has shared that the DOE responds to students using hateful or offensive language by meeting with their families or offering individual counseling and support.

"School is a place of learning and growth, and we are proud that our buildings are filled with dedicated and talented educators who can use these instances as teachable moments for our youngest New Yorkers," Lyle said.

Diddy Has Been Denied Bail Three Times

Diddy has been locked at the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center since his arrest and has been denied bail three times now as a judge deemed him a flight risk.

He has been charged with sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution, with his trial date scheduled to begin in May next year.

In a written ruling, Judge Arun Subramanian cited Diddy's propensity to violence, referencing a viral video where he was seen physically assaulting his ex-girlfriend Cassandra "Cassie" Ventura, and a risk of serious witness tampering, as reasons why he was denied bail.

"The Court finds that the government has shown by clear and convincing evidence that no condition or combination of conditions will reasonably assure the safety of the community," the ruling read, per the Daily Mail.

Judge Subramanian also noted that there's "evidence supporting a serious risk of witness tampering" after Diddy was accused of violating his phone privileges behind bars and paying other inmates to use their Phone Access Code numbers to make three-way calls to people who are not on his approved contact list.

Diddy has more troubles on his hands to deal with after a previous anonymous accuser chose to reveal her identity in order to proceed with an alleged sexual assault case against him.

Anna Kane, who was married to Edmonton Oilers hockey star Evander Kane between 2018 and 2021, previously filed a sexual assault lawsuit against the hip-hop mogul in 2023 under the anonymous moniker Jane Doe.

She was, however, ordered to reveal her identity if she wanted to proceed with the case, prompting her to amend her petition earlier this month.

"I had hoped to use a pseudonym in pursuing justice for what happened to me as a teenager," Anna told Us Weekly. "Defendants' demand that I use my name was an attempt to intimidate me, but I am not intimidated. I am prepared to proceed and hold accountable those who have harmed me."
