Details about Sean "Diddy" Combs' meal for Thanksgiving have emerged ahead of a judge ruling on his fourth bail attempt later this week.
According to reports, the rapper won't be getting the luxurious feast he is used to at home if the ruling doesn't go his way. However, he had earlier offered a robust bail package for his fourth bail attempt, hoping the judge's decision would favor him.
Sean "Diddy" Combs also challenged federal prosecutors' use of a viral video where he was seen assaulting his ex, Cassandra "Cassie" Ventura.
Diddy's Thanksgiving Day Jail Meal Revealed
Two months after Sean "Diddy" Combs' arrest for alleged sex crimes, the rapper is still in jail ahead of his trial after being denied bail on three occasions.
The rapper currently has a fourth attempt at bail in progress, with a ruling expected to come later this week.
If the Bad Boy founder is denied bail again, he will spend Thanksgiving behind bars—a first for the rapper. He would also miss out on a Thanksgiving feast tailored to his tastes, like the lavish meals he has enjoyed in the past.
According to TMZ, the embattled music mogul and other prisoners will receive a light breakfast consisting of fruit, cereal, pastries, and skim milk.
Fortunately, lunch is more festive, featuring turkey roast, hot and sour tofu, mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables, cranberry sauce, turkey gravy, dinner rolls, and holiday pies.
As for dinner, the meal will be simple: a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, potato chips, whole wheat bread, and a fruit beverage.
The Rapper Offered A Hefty Bail Package To Convince The Court To Release Him
While it is likely that Diddy's bail attempt will fail again due to past precedents, the rapper is doing all he can to prevent it.
One strategy he has used is to offer an extremely substantial, comprehensive bail package that supersedes what he offered in his previous bail attempts.
As part of the package, he also offered a "$50 million bond secured by the equity in Combs and his mother's Florida homes, implementation of a 24/7 monitoring service by approved security personnel."
According to a report, the rapper also included additional conditions, such as prohibiting himself from having "internet or phone access outside of meetings with legal counsel, a pre-approved visitor list consisting of select family members, and surrendered passports belonging to the rapper and his family members."
Diddy Claims Federal Prosecutors Altered Cassie Video To Influence Judge's Bail Decision
The Bad Boy founder has sought to challenge federal prosecutors' use of a viral video showing him allegedly assaulting his ex, Cassandra "Cassie" Ventura.
The incident, which occurred in 2016, resurfaced earlier this year as part of an ongoing investigation into Diddy by the authorities.
While the rapper did not deny the altercation took place, he claimed in a recent filing obtained by TMZ that prosecutors presented the judge with an edited version of the video.
He argued that this amounted to "mischaracterizing and concealing critical facts" to ensure his bail request was denied.
The filing also alleged that prosecutors possessed the unedited version of the video but chose to alter it to present their "most powerful evidence of danger and obstruction."
It further claimed that this tactic was intended to make Diddy appear far more dangerous than the unedited footage would suggest.
The Rapper Apologized For His Actions In The Cassie Assault Video
In a now-deleted apology video, Diddy opened up about hitting rock bottom at the time of his assault on Cassie, noting that he was "f-cked" up.
The disgraced rapper said, "It's so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you got to do that. I was f-cked up. I mean, I hit rock bottom — but I make no excuses. My behavior [in] that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I'm disgusted. I was disgusted then when I did it, I'm disgusted now."
He continued, "I went, and I sought out professional help. Had to go into therapy. Had to go into rehab. Had to ask God for his mercy and grace. I'm so sorry. But I'm committed to [being] a better man each and every day. And I'm not asking for forgiveness. I'm truly sorry."
Federal Prosecutors Have Argued Against Diddy's Fourth Bail Attempt
Ahead of the ruling, federal prosecutors had filed a motion that the rapper poses a "serious risk of obstruction, danger, and flight" in a bid to get his fourth bail attempt denied.
They also stated that Diddy has attempted to obstruct his sex crimes case by making efforts "to publicly leak materials he views as helpful to his case" and initiating "media campaigns that are, in his own words, aimed at tainting the jury pool."
The filing also alleged that Diddy violated rules prohibiting contact with individuals not on his approved contact list, including witnesses relevant to his case.
To avoid being caught, he reportedly used the telephone accounts of at least eight other inmates. He paid for the access through other inmates using "payment processing apps and BOP (Bureau of Prisons) commissary account deposits."
