Singer Liam Payne may have been trying to escape the hotel room via the balcony from which he fell to his death.

New reports surrounding the One Direction alum’s tragic passing in October have started to make waves on social media.

They allege Payne may have been in distress due to past experiences of being “locked up” in hotel rooms at the height of his former group’s fame, and may have been seeking a way out.

Photos said to be taken from security cameras paint a troubling picture of Liam Payne's final moments in the CasaSur Palmero Hotel in Argentina.

TMZ was the first to publish these findings.

In one of the screenshots, three hotel workers can be seen carrying a supposedly inebriated Payne back to his room after they received calls of the singer acting erratically from the hotel lobby. This would align with several statements given that day, which all claimed that the “Familiar” singer had been under the influence of multiple substances. Payne’s face is blurred, but TMZ says that he was conscious and holding his head upright.

In another capture, said to be taken from the hallway outside of Liam’s room, the hotel workers appear to crowd around the singer in an attempt to get him inside. Payne was said to have struggled the entire time, but was ultimately forced in after workers used a master key to open his door.

They then removed a mirror from his room, presumably to assure it wouldn’t be broken by Payne.

Once inside the room, Payne was said to have relayed his plans to use the balcony to escape to the CasaSur Palermo staff.

This seems to line up with a supposed 911 call from a hotel worker, who expressed concern that the entertainer’s life could be in danger due to the open balcony.

As noted as in a transcript of the call, the worker said, “I don't know whether his life may be in danger. He is in a room with a balcony, and, well, we're a little afraid."

Workers then left Liam in the room alone, where, minutes later, he tragically fell to his death from the balcony.

Adding to speculation of Payne’s possible escape plan are comments from one of his bodyguards, who say they witnessed a prior attempt from the singer that was successful.

Sometime in mid-September, the “Bedroom Floor” singer was said to have been staying at a rental property in Florida. While there, the bodyguard feared that Payne was in the midst of a drug binge, and made the decision to lock him inside of one of its rooms.

Using a garden hose, Payne was said to have climbed out of the window and safely reached the ground.

A Bag Said To Belong To Liam Found On A Lower Balcony Gives Weight To The ‘Escape’ Route

TMZ also made note of a bag said to belong to Payne being found on a second-floor balcony to give their report more validity.

It is being purported that Liam may have been trying to climb from his third-floor balcony to one on the second floor, before jumping a short, safe distance to the ground floor.

Adding weight to this theory are findings in a report from the investigation, which state that, two days after Payne’s fall, a hotel worker discovered a brown leather bag on the balcony directly below Liam’s room.

In this bag was an apparent note that read, “For Liam,” along with various pills and a bottle of Jack Daniel’s.

Payne also apparently had a bag strapped around him when he fell. A black Yankee’s cap was also discovered near his body after the fall. This is telling as TMZ claims that the singer wasn’t wearing one when he was carried from the hotel lobby.

Law Officials Could Be Trying To Cover Up The Hotel’s Part In Liam’s Tragic Death

A source with direct knowledge of the investigation tells TMZ that law officials in Argentina may be “protecting” the CasaSur Palermo Hotel, which is why so much emphasis has been placed on the three people currently in custody regarding Liam’s death.

They went on to say the hotel workers appeared to be more concerned about protecting the hotel property – such as the mirror from Payne’s room – and the disruption he caused in the lobby.

When reached for comment, the hotel refused to give one. Keep your eyes on The Blast for further updates.
