Rapper T.I. and his wife, Tiny, are not letting their former pal escape their upcoming legal battle after declaring they wanted their day in court.

Sabrina Peterson is learning the hard way that her words have consequences, with the famous couple highlighting her past comments in their recent motion to dismiss her continuance plea.

The legal drama began in 2021 when the plaintiff sued T.I. and Tiny for defamation, invasion of privacy, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and other claims. However, part of her claims were dismissed, and the couple were awarded nearly $100,000 in legal fees.

According to court documents, Peterson recently implored the court to postpone her upcoming December 10 trial to at least June 10, 2025. She explained that she hired a new legal team in September, and they needed time to review her case. Her new legal team claimed:

"The practical reality is that [Sabrina] is in a position where the most basic necessary groundwork to prepare for trial remains incomplete — her lawyers do not even have the case file that predecessor counsel said he would provide."

However, in their response to Peterson's request, T.I. and Tiny refused to accept her plea. They implored the court to toss her demands, stressing that whatever inconvenience she had was of her own doing, per the documents obtained by In Touch.

One of the reasons T.I. and Tiny refused to honor Peterson's request was her past comments about waiting to fight them in court. Their attorney, Andrew Brettler, highlighted this in his argument, noting:

"For months, [Sabrina] has taken to social media to flout this court's orders and express her desire to get her day in court. Now, years after filing her complaint, and on the eve of trial, she is suddenly unprepared for trial."

The legal rep argued that Peterson cannot eat her cake and have it, stressing: "The discovery deadlines have lapsed. She has continuously failed to prosecute the action. Any such 'emergency' is of [Sabrina's] own making, and the application [to postpone the trial] should be denied accordingly."

Earlier this month, The Blast reported that T.I. and Tiny had asked a Los Angeles Superior Court judge to hold Peterson in contempt for failing to obey the terms of a judgment. Their former pal was asked to pay them $96,000 in legal fees in October 2023.

The order was given after the appeal court dismissed five of the seven allegations Peterson levied against the rapper and his wife. She was assigned a timeline to fulfill the payment, but the couple accused her of ignoring the judgment.

"Despite this court's repeated orders that Sabrina pay T.I. and Tiny their statutory attorneys' fees and costs, Sabrina has continuously and willfully refused to do so," their attorney argued, noting her:

T.I. and Tiny asked the court to punish Peterson with $1,000 daily in sanctions until she coughed up their $96,000. They claimed the sanctions were needed, given the additional resources they had to use because of their former pal.

As stated, the legal drama between the couple and Peterson started in 2021 when she sued them for defamation, invasion of privacy, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and more. She slammed T.I. for abuse, claiming he once pulled a gun on her.

Peterson also accused the rapper of being abusive to women. However, Tiny clapped back in his defense in a social media post featuring a picture of her husband and their former friend's son. Her caption partly read:

"Hold up… So you want your abuser to train your sonnow when did you say my husband assaulted you? Did you change your mind or change it back?"
