Zach Bryan Trades CMA Awards For Some Peace And Quiet Amid Ex Brianna LaPaglia's Allegations

Despite being nominated for Musical Event of the Year, Zach Bryanchose to spend his time bonding with his dog rather than attend the 58th Annual Country Music Association Awards.

The CMA Awards took place in Nashville on Wednesday, November 19. While other country singers donned their best outfits for the red carpet, the "I Remember Everything" hitmaker took in the sights while strolling with his chocolate Labrador, Jack Daniels.

It was unclear why Zach Bryan skipped the prestigious ceremony, but it might be linked to his tumultuous split from "Barstool Sports" personality Brianna "Chickenfry" LaPaglia. His ex-girlfriend has been far from quiet about their breakup, dropping shocking bombshells from abuse to hush money.

Bryan updated fans about his whereabouts on his Instagram Story, sharing a picture of his adorable Labrador, Jack Daniels. The dog was strapped for a walk, posing at a waterfront while the singer was out of frame.

The country music star left the picture captionless, but the serene atmosphere in the snap seemed to do the talking for him. It appeared Bryan was not letting his issues with LaPaglia get to him, choosing peace instead of engaging in drama.

However, his ex claimed he could not respond to her allegations. During the November 13 episode of her "BFFs" podcast, LaPaglia slammed Bryan for his "deafening" silence, claiming it proved her comments about his character.

"I obviously think he's not responding because if he is to respond, he has to deny it … and then I post all the videos and the recordings," the media personality said, per Page Six. She also declared Bryan was never "going to be happy in his life ever."

LaPaglia dropped her bombshell allegations against Bryan earlier this month. The Blast reported that she accused him of attempting to silence her with an expensive non-disclosure agreement, saying:

"After everything was done, I was approached by [Bryan's] team, and I was offered a lot of money, a big lump sum of money, and a few options."

LaPaglia explained that if she had agreed, she would have received "the money over the course of three years." However, the sum came at the cost of her silence, meaning she could not discuss her "experiences" and "everything" she had with Bryan.

LaPaglia noted the singer's team would have been monitoring all she did and could not accept such terms. "I thought about it for a second, and I think they tend to forget, I started to forget, that I was someone, I was established, I was successful, before [Bryan]," she declared.

While addressing her reasons for rejecting the NDA deal, LaPaglia said, "I'm going to be someone, I'm going to be established [and] I'm going to be successful after him [too]. Maybe I'm not going to be selling out stadiums and f—ing making hundreds of millions of dollars."

She doubled down on not needing Bryan's money, stressing: "I'm alright where I'm at, and I don't want blood money. I don't think you can pay people off that you hurt [and expect] for them to protect you." LaPaglia continued:

"Offering millions of dollars to this apparent beautiful relationship [and] keeping it a secret speaks volumes. I did not accept any money. I will not accept any money. I think it's beneath me. I think that it's f–ked up."

As for the alleged sum Bryan offered, LaPaglia's co-host, Dave Portnoy, revealed it was $12 million. The "Barstool Sports" founder noted he contemplated telling her to take the money, but she refused because of what happened in the relationship.

LaPaglia acknowledged the massive sum sparked a "moral battle" within her, noting that she did not want the money. However, when she considered her family's situation, she was tempted to take it, and they even advised her to.

But the podcaster claimed she would never be able to sleep if she took the money and covered what Bryan did to her. LaPaglia accused him of emotional abuse, alleging that it was so bad she feared him.

Bryan announced his separation from LaPaglia in an Instagram post; however, his ex claimed she was "blindsided" by the news. The Blast shared that the media personality addressed the situation on YouTube, saying:

"I just woke up to Zach posting on his Instagram that we broke up, and I had no idea that post was going up. He didn't text me, he didn't call me. I just woke up to a bunch of texts, like, 'Are you okay?'"

"Do you see the swelling on my face? I've been crying for like five days straight," LaPaglia tearfully confessed from her bathroom floor. She could not wrap her head around the breakup, wondering where things went wrong between them.
