Tori Spelling Returns To Upscale Living In Calabasas A Year After RV Lifestyle

Tori Spelling's motel and RV days are over as she moves into a luxurious new home.

The "Beverly Hills, 90210" star made waves last year for downscaling from her usual celebrity lifestyle amid her divorce from Dean McDermott. Their separation sparked financial trouble speculations when the actress moved her five kids into a remote vehicle home.

Tori Spelling's woes continued with a sudden hospitalization for an undisclosed condition. While 2023 seemed to test the TV personality and her family, this year has been filled with positive changes, from Spelling's willingness to declutter her storage units and her new home in Calabasas.

According to new reports, Spelling and her five children recently relocated into a  $12,000-a-month mansion in Calabasas. The property featured five bedrooms, four bathrooms, and various luxuries, including a swimming pool.

While the stunning home paled in comparison to the $85 million Holmby Hills manor Spelling grew up in, it was a significant upgrade from her RV days. Before moving into the mobile home, she and her kids spent time at a $100-a-night motel in Los Angeles.

At the time, Spelling explained that they were forced to move because of a "mold issue" at her marital home. She previously addressed the mold problem with fans on Instagram, noting her kids had been continually sick because of it.

An insider echoed similar sentiments about the mold problem, per Daily Mail, claiming the motel move did not stem from bad blood. "Tori and Dean are doing really good, and her staying at a hotel with their kids has nothing to do with a separation," they said.

A month after Spelling and her kids were spotted at the motel, The Blast reported that the group had moved into a Sunseeker E450 RV. They were photographed arriving at a Ventura County campground with the actress at the wheel.

The family set up camp with essentials like camping chairs, a cooler, a stove, a pop-up table, and a large rug to add some comfort to their outdoor space. However, shortly after news of their living situation broke, Spelling revealed she had been in the hospital for four days.

She shared a picture of her arm hooked up to an IV alongside a touching tribute to her kids. "Grateful and so proud of my strong, brave, resilient, and kind to the core children who remain positive no matter what comes my way," Spelling penned.

Following Spelling's RV move, a source claimed McDermott did not believe she was facing financial issues. Instead, he suspected his estranged wife downscaled her residence to gain the public's "sympathy."

The insider noted Spelling's pals shared similar beliefs, saying, "They do not understand why she would be doing this unless for sympathy. She has money." They claimed McDermott was also upset with her for refusing to accept help from friends.

"Dean does not think that the kids should be living like this, and of course, he is angry. He is furious at Tori because she is acting like a child," the source continued, adding:

"She had every opportunity to make this marriage work, and instead, she fostered the narrative for years that she was done with Dean."

Months before news of her Calabasas home broke, The Blast shared that Spelling had positively changed her life. During an April episode of her "misSPELLING" podcast, she revealed her hoarding habits, saying:

"I'm a hoarder, you guys! Hi, my name's Tori, and I'm a hoarder. There, I said it. I always tell people, 'I'm not a hoarder. I'm a collector.'"

Accepting her status as a hoarder was a big step for Spelling, who started clearing out her storage units. She was motivated to change her lifestyle after moving into an Airbnb with her kids following the mold infestation in her marital home.

While reflecting on her decision to clear out her storage units, Spelling said: "I can breathe because I don't have all my sh-t falling on top of me. I would like to clean up my life for my kids because they deserve better."

Spelling also noted that McDermott "was right" when he implored her to clear out the storage units for the longest time. "He said, 'We've gotta pare down and we don't need this stuff. And sometimes stuff is just stuff,'" she recalled.

The TV personality noted that the storage units weren't filled with "just stuff" to her, claiming they captured her story and journey. However, she accepted it was time to let go because she could no longer afford to maintain the facilities.
