Taylor Swift has been a fantastic godmother to Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively's children, according to the "Deadpool" actor himself.
Reynolds and Lively, who are parents to four kids—daughters James, 9, Inez, 7, and Betty, 4, as well as son Olin, born in February 2023—have entrusted Swift with a special role in their family, and she has fully embraced it.
The story of their friendship began in 2015 when Lively shared a playful nod to Swift's star-studded "Bad Blood" music video in the caption of a photo for a L'Oréal campaign. Initially, fans misinterpreted the post as a dig, but Lively soon set the record straight, revealing herself to be a longtime Swiftie.
Taylor Swift and Blake Lively met up later that year in Australia for a day of fun, and their bond has only grown stronger since Swift became close to Lively's husband, Ryan Reynolds, and their kids.

Over the years, Swift and Lively have become incredibly close friends, supporting each other’s projects, attending each other's events, and sharing glimpses of their friendship on social media. Swift has become an integral part of the Reynolds-Lively family, especially in her role as godmother to their children, who affectionately adore "Aunt Taylor."
Taylor Swift publicly revealed her role as godmother to his children earlier this summer when she shared a post about his movie "Deadpool & Wolverine."
“Shout out to Wade Wilson, aka my godkids’ sperm donor!” the "22" singer joked in the caption, referencing Reynolds’ character Deadpool’s real name.
Ryan Reynolds Opens Up About His Relationship With Taylor Swift
Earlier this fall, Reynolds and Lively brought their daughter James along to attend Swift’s concert in New Orleans. In a TikTok video from the event, the "It Ends with Us" actress was seen with her arm around James as they entered the venue. James, sporting sparkles in her long blonde hair, clapped excitedly as she made her way to her seat.
"She is the godparent to my daughters," Reynolds shared in a new interview with Deadline. "That was very sweet. Not just sweet, that was, like, you could probably quantify a box office based on Taylor just doing something like that."
Another TikTok video captured Lively, Reynolds, and James later in the concert, enjoying Swift’s performance of her song “Betty,” which notably features the names of all three of Lively’s older children.
Taylor Swift Brings Blake Lively To 2024 Super Bowl
Swift was joined by her closest friends as she cheered on Travis Kelce at the 2024 Super Bowl, including her longtime friend Lively.
The "Gossip Girl" alum turned heads in tight curls and a red tracksuit as she arrived at the stadium alongside Swift, who wore an all-black ensemble with a red jacket casually draped over her shoulders.
The big game marked Swift’s 13th Kansas City Chiefs appearance—her famously lucky number. Since making her relationship with Kelce public, Swift has become a regular at Chiefs games, often seen cheering on the tight end. She’s brought along her celebrity friends for support and has been spotted mingling in the suite with Kelce’s family and close friends.
Taylor Swift Takes A Jab At Ryan Reynolds
To celebrate "Deadpool & Wolverine" hitting theaters in July 2024, Swift shared a playful post on her Instagram Stories congratulating Reynolds on the movie’s release. She also took the opportunity to poke fun at his friendly rivalry with co-star Hugh Jackman, adding her own humorous twist to the duo’s ongoing banter.
"Over the past few years I have watched one of my best friends on this planet pour every bit of his heart, soul, sweat, time, energy, jokes, pain, joy, rebellion, darkness, and magic into this film," she wrote. "He's created the best work of his life, and this film feels like an actual joy portal, a wild escape from reality, and an abs sandwich. I don't know how he did it."
"But that's just Hugh for you!" she joked.
Blake Lively Thanked Taylor Swift For Supporting Ryan Reynolds' Movie
Lively reposted Swift’s tribute on her own Instagram Stories, adding a playful message: “Thank you, @taylorswift, for honoring my guy(s). I couldn’t have said it better myself—which is unsurprising, given that I have 14 fewer Grammys and not a single sold-out stadium world tour.”
