Sean "Diddy" Combs' lawyers have disputed a claim made by federal prosecutors that the rapper trafficked a second victim.
The Bad Boy founder is currently facing a sex trafficking charge as part of an ongoing federal case related to a female victim with whom he was in a relationship for over a decade.
As for the alleged second victim, Sean "Diddy" Combs' lawyers are now asserting that this individual is "not a victim at all" and that federal prosecutors have yet to interview her.
Diddy's Lawyer Challenges Prosecutors' Claims Of A Second Sex Trafficking Victim
Amid Diddy's ongoing federal sex crimes case, prosecutors have claimed that there may be a second victim whom the rapper trafficked as part of an alleged sex trafficking operation he orchestrated.
In September, the authorities had arrested the rapper in part due to a sex trafficking charge involving a Jane Doe, who is now believed to be his ex-girlfriend, Cassandra "Cassie" Ventura.
While the sex trafficking charge will be contested fully when Diddy's trial is held in May 2025, the rapper's attorney has challenged the new claim about a second possible trafficked victim, per TMZ.
In a legal document filed on Friday, they claimed that the idea of a second victim was false, specifically noting that she is "not a victim at all."
They also mentioned that the woman wasn't a target of any obstructive conduct by Diddy, and the rapper didn't try to contact her, which would have obstructed the prosecutors' investigation.
Diddy's Lawyers Claim The Second Alleged Victim Has Not Been Interview By Federal Prosecutors
As part of their latest petition, Diddy's lawyers argued that federal prosecutors have yet to interview the woman, suggesting they may not view her testimony as relevant to the case in the long run.
The identity of the second victim remains unknown, as well as the details of her relationship with the rapper.
Diddy's lawyers' claim appears to have originated from a review of discovery materials that federal prosecutors provided them in preparation for next year's trial.
It is possible that the discovery materials also led Diddy's attorneys to claim in their filing that federal prosecutors misled the court and concealed crucial facts during Diddy's initial bail hearing following his September indictment.
They also attempted to poke holes in the sex trafficking case involving the first victim by claiming that she tried to extort $30 million from the Bad Boy founder to purchase the rights to a memoir about their relationship.
The Rapper's Attorney Made A Fourth Attempt to Secure Bail For Him
Diddy's attorneys also requested bail for the rapper, marking the fourth attempt since his arrest.
They argued that similar cases, such as Diddy's, have involved defendants being granted bail, and there was no reason his case should be treated any differently.
They also proposed a bail package similar to those previously offered in the rapper's other bail attempts. This package includes a $50 million bond and restrictions on the rapper's movements to prevent him from fleeing or obstructing the case by intimidating witnesses.
A decision on this bail attempt has yet to be made, but given the precedent set by the other denials, it is likely to be rejected.
The rapper remains in detention at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, where he was taken after his arrest.
Diddy Has Been Accused Of Multiple Sexual Assault And Rape Crimes
Apart from his federal case, Diddy has been involved in several high-profile lawsuits, keeping him firmly in the spotlight.
Most of these lawsuits were filed on behalf of some individuals from a group of 100 alleged victims represented by attorney Tony Buzbee. Among the accusations are claims that the rapper sexually assaulted multiple minors at the height of his fame in the music industry.
However, Diddy, through his attorneys, has denied these accusations and is ready to shut them down in court.
"Mr. Combs and his legal team have full confidence in the facts, their legal defenses, and the integrity of the judicial process," Combs' attorneys said in a statement in October, per Forbes.
They added, "In court, the truth will prevail: that Mr. Combs has never sexually assaulted anyone — adult or minor, man or woman."
The Rapper Has Yet To Find A Buyer For His Beverly Hills Mansion That Was Raided By The Feds
TMZ recently reported that Diddy's Beverly Hills mansion is still on the market and has been unable to attract a buyer after two months.
Sources told the news outlet that "only a few" potential buyers have checked it out or shown interest in the property.
One married couple reportedly looked at the house, but the woman was "creeped out" and couldn't wait to leave.
The mansion, which Diddy is asking $61.5 million for, was the subject of a massive Homeland Security raid back in March. It is rumored to have developed an "ick factor" because of all the allegations the rapper is facing.
Also, realtors are said to have been put off by the "ridiculous" price Diddy is asking for, as they say it's nowhere near the staggering sum.
