On Friday, November 1, actress Chloë Grace Moretz used her social media platform to make a dual statement, revealing her sexual orientation in an Instagram post encouraging early voting in the 2024 election.
In the post, Moretz, who is widely recognized for her contributions to film as well as for her previous relationship with Brooklyn Beckham, shared a simple image of an "I Voted Early" sticker.
Chloë Grace Moretz's new post marks the first time the actress has openly addressed her sexuality.

In the caption, the actress wrote, “I voted early and I voted for Kamala Harris. There is so much on the line this election. I believe the government has no right over my body as a woman, and that the decisions over my body should come ONLY from myself and my doctor.”
She later said she believed that Harris “will protect that for us" and that she "believe[s] in the need for legal protections that protects the LGBTQ+ community as a gay woman.”
The 'Carrie' Actress Has Been Linked To Model Kate Harrison
While this is her first public statement on the subject, Moretz has been romantically linked to model Kate Harrison since 2018.
The two first sparked public curiosity after being photographed together in Malibu, California.
“We need protections in this country and to have access to the care we need and deserve," Mortez continued in her social media post. “SO… Are you voting early? Let’s get a plan together to get to your polling place with your friends! Go to IWillVote.com to figure out the best plan for you."

The "Carrie" star has been romantically connected to model Kate Harrison since 2018, when they were first spotted sharing a kiss at Nobu in Malibu, California. Since then, the two have occasionally appeared on each other’s Instagram profiles, including recent posts from a friend’s wedding in September, where they celebrated together.
Moretz included two photos with Harrison in her wedding photo carousel. In one, the pair are seen cozied up together at a dining table, while the other captures them standing side by side in black dresses, arms wrapped around each other’s waists.
Earlier this year, Harrison shared a photo of the two at the NYC Dyke March in June 2023.
Chloë Grace Moretz Previously Said She Does Not See Herself As Homosexual
In 2018, Moretz took on a powerful role in the indie drama "The Miseducation of Cameron Post," portraying a young woman forced into a gay conversion therapy program.
“‘I don’t see myself as a homosexual, I don’t see myself as anything.’ These are all societal pressures that we’re being labeled as," she told The Independent at the time. "We’re all human, trying to be with the people that we fall in love with and be the best person that we can be. But don’t assume people’s sexualities. And don’t project your own issues onto them. Why don’t we let people be who they wanna be?”
The film, which explores the emotional impact of such practices, received critical acclaim for its thoughtful approach to LGBTQ+ issues and offered Moretz the opportunity to tackle complex, socially relevant themes early in her career.
Chloë Grace Moretz Has Been Vocal About LGBTQ Rights
Over the years, Moretz has shown a strong commitment to political activism. In 2016, she attended the Democratic National Convention, alongside then-boyfriend Brooklyn Beckham, to show her support for Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign.
Moretz has also been vocal about LGBTQ rights, a cause that holds personal significance for her, as both of her brothers are gay. “I was really blessed because I grew up so open to it,” she said about being an advocate in a 2018 interview with the Gay Times. “I grew up fighting on their behalf because it broke my heart to see that yes, they can stand up for themselves, but people wouldn’t listen.”
“So I took it upon myself with their blessing to go out there and talk about it, and to tell people, ‘Hey, being gay is not a big deal at all. But be proud and be out there and raise the flag high. Be a part of the community, and be for the community,'” she continued. “So it was never a question to me whether or not I was ever going to be an advocate, and what that meant to my heart and how it shaped me.”
Election Day is on November 5.
