Felicity Huffman Sentenced to Two Weeks in Prison Over College Admissions Scandal

Felicity Huffman was just handed down her sentence in the college bribery case, and the judge has ordered her to serve a only 14-days in prison

Huffman arrived in federal court Friday with husband and actor William H. Macy roughly any hour before sentencing. The 'Desperate Housewives' actress showed no emotion as she entered the federal courts building.

Along with the time in custody, Huffman was ordered to pay a $30,000 fine, a year of supervised release and 250 hours community service.scandal.

While in court, Huffman broke down and said, "I am deeply ashamed of what I have done"

Her legal team was hoping for probation and 250 hours of community service in returned for pleading guilty. Huffman changed her plea May and admitted to paying $15,000 to college admissions scam mastermind William “Rick” Singer.

She pled guilty to 'conspiracy to commit mail fraud' and 'honest services mail fraud.'

The actress was accused of using Singer to help inflate her daughter Sophia's SAT scores by 400 points.

Huffman’s lawyers filed documents in support of her not being locked up saying their client was “remorseful" and "deeply ashamed" about what she had done.

In the filing, they she they denied the actress wanted to falsify her daughter’s SAT scores and but instead blamed her her actions on the poor resources at her daughter’s high school.

“The public high school her daughter Sophia attended, had limited college counseling resources,” they wrote. As far as using Singer, they claimed he was recommended to her as “one of the best college counselors in California.

Felicity Huffman is the first of several high profile people charged in the bribery scandal to be sentenced. Fellow actress Lori Loughlin has pleaded not guilty and is currently fighting her case.
