Selena Gomez has been a longtime advocate for mental health, making sure her fans and interested parties have the resources to acquire help if needed.
The "Lose You to Love Me" singer continued her advocacy last night at the second annual Rare Impact Fund Event as she shared the ways in which she protects her mental health.
The 32-year-old star of "Only Murders in the Building" vulnerably shared her mental health journey in a 2022 documentary for Apple TV+ called "My Mind and Me."

The actress was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2018 and revealed it two years later while in conversation with Miley Cyrus.
Gomez shared with Rolling Stone how much a psychosis episode affected her in 2018 and revealed she had to "relearn certain words" while on a detox for medication.
The Rare Beauty founder revealed to the publication, "It was just that I was gone. There was no part of me that was there anymore," Gomez explained.

Accepting her new diagnosis did not come easy for Gomez.
"It took a lot of hard work for me to (a) accept that I was bipolar, but (b) learn how to deal with it because it wasn’t going to go away," she went on to tell Rolling Stone.
The former "Wizards of Waverly Place" star's friends were affected by the diagnosis as well. The singer revealed it was sometimes difficult for her to remember her location while in conversation with her pals.
"I would forget where I was while we were talking," Gomez also revealed. She also disclosed she can only "remember snippets" of this particular period in her life.
The "Single Soon" actress took time off for treatment in a Connecticut treatment center after her diagnosis. According to Page Six, Gomez's treatment plan catered to those who lived "always on" types of lifestyles.

Four years after her conversation with Cyrus wherein Gomez revealed her bipolar diagnosis, she is continuing to be open about mental health.
Last night at the second annual Rare Impact Fund Event, the "Monte Carlo" actress used part of her speech to share how she preserves her mental health these days.
Speaking to PEOPLE, Gomez pointed at isolation as a notable factor to watch. "Try not to isolate," she told the publication. She added, "I think it's important to have moments alone, but when you isolate, sometimes those feelings can just stay bottled up."

The saying "it takes a village" could very much be applied to the singer's next tidbit regarding mental health preservation. Gomez was incredibly particular about stressing fans incorporate someone they trust into their mental health journey.
She emphasized sharing with a trusted figure as a vital way to navigate one's personal experience in taking care of their heart and mind.
"Find one person to trust and tell your heart to," the Disney alumna said. Trustworthiness is also a defining factor in figuring out the best and most appropriate confidant in their situation. Gomez stressed the importance of being able to "actually trust them with that information" once a confidant is secured.

The actress recently took the time to make sure a homeless gentleman could confidently secure his next meal.
Gomez was recently seen exiting Nobu Fifty-Seven in Manhattan's Plaza district. A homeless man inquired if the singer could give him some money after she took a minute to sign autographs for fans.
After acquiring a $20 bill from her bodyguard, the singer told the homeless man to "have a good meal," and quietly left.
The fourth season of Gomez's mystery series "Only Murders in The Building" is currently airing on Hulu. She stars alongside Steve Martin and Martin Short in the award-winning show.
