Newly unearthed photos of singer Cassandra "Cassie" Ventura have renewed concern over her past relationship with embattled hip-hop mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs.
The resurfaced images, taken years before the shocking hotel altercation in which Diddy physically assaulted her, appear to show Cassie with noticeable "bruise marks" and a "black eye."
Sean "Diddy" Combs is currently behind bars at a Brooklyn detention center while he awaits trial for sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution.
Cassie Seen With 'Bruise Marks' In Unearthed Photos
Old photos of Cassie sporting what appears to be bruises on her forehead and a black eye have resurfaced amid her ex-boyfriend Diddy's legal woes.
The photos were taken in January 2013 while the now-exes arrived at a party in Kingston, Jamaica.
Cassie can be seen wearing dark shades with what appears to be bruises appearing under them, while a small dark mark is visible on the side of her head.
The disturbing visuals also showed her sporting white nail polish, which she claimed in her lawsuit against the "Bad Boy For Life" rapper last year, was a shade he chose so she could stand out during his "freak offs."
In another image, Diddy grabbed her hand tightly as they headed into the party arena after his performance at that year's Bad Boys Sound Clash.
Cassie Filed A Bombshell Lawsuit Against Diddy
Last November, the "Long Way 2 Go" singer filed a lawsuit against Diddy, accusing him of sexually assaulting and physically abusing her for over a decade while they were an item, per People.
She claimed that she was stuck in a "cycle of abuse, violence, and sex trafficking" and that Diddy would often force her to take part in his weekly "freak offs," where she was made to have sex with male prostitutes under the influence of drugs while he watched and recorded it.
"After years in silence and darkness, I am finally ready to tell my story and to speak up on behalf of myself and for the benefit of other women who face violence and abuse in their relationships," she said in a statement.
Cassie continued, "With the expiration of New York's Adult Survivors Act fast approaching, it became clear that this was an opportunity to speak up about the trauma I have experienced and that I will be recovering from for the rest of my life."
Cassie Hinted At A Hotel Assault Clip In Her Lawsuit
The unearthed photos were taken years before a 2016 hotel footage resurfaced, in which Diddy, wearing just a white towel, can be seen hitting, kicking, and stomping on Cassie at the now-closed InterContinental Hotel in Beverly Hills.
In her lawsuit, Cassie referenced the altercation that was captured by the video, alleging that in March 2016, "Mr. Combs became extremely intoxicated and punched Ms. Ventura in the face, giving her a black eye."
The "Finna Get Loose" rapper had previously denied the allegations about his abuse but was forced to make a public apology when the video came out, describing his behavior as "inexcusable," adding, "I was disgusted then when I did it. I'm disgusted now."
Cassie's lawsuit also weighed in on Diddy's choice of white nail polish in the resurfaced photo, saying, "Mr. Combs insisted she wear white nail polish to contrast with the skin of the black men he hired to have sex with her."
The Former Couple Settled The Lawsuit Within 24 Hours
Diddy and Cassie speedily settled the case a day after the suit was filed after reaching a "mutual satisfaction."
"I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control," Cassie said in a statement, per People. "I want to thank my family, fans, and lawyers for their unwavering support."
Her attorney, Douglas Wigdor, also noted, "I am very proud of Ms. Ventura for having the strength to go public with her lawsuit. She ought to be commended for doing so."
At the time, Diddy's lawyer shared that the settlement was "in no way an admission of wrongdoing."
"We have decided to resolve this matter amicably," Diddy said in a statement. "I wish Cassie and her family all the best. Love."
Diddy Was Arrested In September
Homeland Security officers have since arrested Diddy on September 16 after a grand jury indictment.
He stays locked up at the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center as he faces charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution.
He has been denied bail thrice now after appearing in a New York courtroom for a status conference in leg chains last week, per the Daily Mail.
The rapper has maintained his innocence on all charges and will return to court next month, with his trial set for May.
