Mariah Carey is spreading holiday cheer with a major announcement regarding her iconic song "All I Want for Christmas Is You."

As the festive season approaches, the beloved pop diva has revealed exciting plans to celebrate the 30-year anniversary of her iconic 1994 Christmas album, "Merry Christmas."

Since its debut in 1994, "All I Want For Christmas Is You," co-written by Mariah Carey and Walter Afanasieff, has transformed into one of the biggest holiday hits of all time.

Mariah Carey To Re-Release 'All I Want For Christmas Is You'

The 55-year-old singer announced on October 9 that she is celebrating the 30th anniversary of her iconic 1994 Christmas album, "Merry Christmas," by re-releasing its biggest hit, "All I Want For Christmas Is You."

Initially, the 1994 hit peaked at number six on the Billboard charts and reached number two in both the UK and Japan. However, with the rise of streaming services, the track has skyrocketed in popularity, becoming one of the best-selling digital singles in history.

It has sold a whopping 16 million copies globally and claimed the No. 1 spot in over 30 countries during the weeks leading up to Christmas, cementing its status as an essential tune for offices, malls, and holiday parties alike.

In addition to the new release, the iconic song comes with new cover art, which the artist shared on Instagram.

Mariah Carey Shares New Cover Art For 'All I Want For Christmas Is You'

In her new Instagram post, Mariah Carey is seen rocking a figure-hugging Santa outfit, similar to the outfit she wore in the original cover art.

The second cover that Mariah included in her carousel features the Glitter actress joyfully posing in a glamorous white gown with a leg slit, standing beside a beautifully adorned snowy tree.

"While it is definitely not time to listen to Christmas music yet ‼️ I wanted to share a glimpse of #MerryChristmas30 with you!" she shared in the caption. "An homage to the original album cover, here is the cover art for two of the four new 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' physical singles... available for pre-order now!"

To date, "All I Want For Christmas Is You" has generated an estimated $100 million in royalties.

Earlier this year, Mariah Carey announced her highly anticipated 2024 "Christmas Time" tour, and it looks like she’s set to sleigh the season!

Fans can catch Mariah spreading festive cheer across 20 cities in November and December, kicking off at Southern California’s Yaamava Theater on November 6. She’ll then grace the Hollywood Bowl on November 8 before bringing her Christmas spirit to Dallas, Nashville, St. Louis, Philadelphia, and Pittsburgh. The grand finale is scheduled for December 17 in her hometown of New York City at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

According to Rolling Stone, the tour promises this will be the “grandest holiday spectacle to date” and marks the “first of many surprises” ahead of the 30th anniversary of the popular holiday single “All I Want for Christmas Is You.”

In a recent interview, Mariah Carey reminisced about recording "All I Want For Christmas," a track she co-wrote and co-produced with Walter Afanasieff, in August 1994 at The Hit Factory, an iconic recording studio located in New York City's Hell's Kitchen neighborhood.

"It was an amazing recording session, like no other," the singer said, per USA Today. "I loved it. It was obviously my first Christmas album and we had decorated the studio, so it was like all Christmas decorations and a Christmas tree."

"And that is the reason why I try to make people happy and to have a festive moment, you know, just to get through it. I try to be there as a friend to anyone who needs one."
