Inside The Sexual Assault Allegations

The Blast recently reported that Brooks' former employee filed a sexual assault lawsuit against him at a California court. The accuser, identified as Jane Doe, claimed she started working as a hair and makeup stylist for the singer in 2017.

However, their relationship changed in 2019 with a series of sexual assaults, including rape. She alleged that Brooks booked them only one room at a Los Angeles hotel during a work trip where he appeared before her without clothes.

The allegations continued with the alleged victim claiming Brooks repeatedly exposed his buttocks and genitals during their time together. He would also talk about sex and share sexual fantasies with her, including sending sexually explicit text messages.

The 'Callin' Baton Rouge' Singer Filed A Complaint

Brooks did not take the allegations lying down and filed a complaint against his accuser. He claimed the woman's attorney had sent him a "confidential" demand letter alleging sexual misconduct after he declined her request for "salaried employment and medical benefits."

Through his legal rep, the singer dismissed his accuser's claims as false, stressing, "Defendant is well aware, however, of the substantial, irreparable damage such false allegations would do to Plaintiff's well-earned reputation as a decent and caring person."

"Along with the unavoidable damage to his family and the irreparable damage to his career and livelihood that would result if she made good on her threat to 'publicly file' her fabricated lawsuit," the complaint added, implying the former employee attempted to blackmail Brooks.

The alleged victim, through her legal reps, fired back at Brooks' complaint, expressing her willingness to fight for justice. Her team included attorneys Douglas H. Wigdor, Jeanne M. Christensen, and Hayley Baker.

The lawyers bashed the singer in a statement, noting he tried to silence her and sabotage the case by filing a preemptive complaint in Mississippi. They claimed his actions showed desperation and attempted intimidation.

"We applaud our client's courage in moving forward with her complaints against Garth Brooks. The complaint filed today demonstrates that sexual predators exist not only in corporate America, Hollywood, and in the rap and rock and roll industries but also in the world of country music," their statement read.
