Jax Taylor Mistakenly Conceded Full Custody Of Son To Brittany In Self Court Filing

Oops! Jax Taylor incurs a costly mistake in his custody battle with Brittany Cartwright.

The reality star reportedly made some errors while filling out the legal documents, but his legal counsel stressed that those errors are reversible.

Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright tied the knot in Kentucky in 2019 and welcomed their son, Cruz, in 2021 before Cartwright filed for divorce in August.

The custody case that saw Cartwright win full custody of their 3-year-old son had some errors made by Taylor.

"While Taylor made errors in filling out forms that are usually done by trained legal professionals, those errors will be amended without delay," his legal rep confirmed.

Although the attorney did not reveal which part of the document the error was made on, they noted that their son's custody was not the subject of contention in the divorce.

"Taylor and Brittany have already long resolved all matters related to custody of Cruz and will continue to work together privately for the best interest of their son, which remains their overriding concern," the rep stated to Page Six.

The court document filed in September not only revealed Taylor's error but also claimed that the pair were legally never married. This is surprising, as the estranged couple got married in 2019 in Kentucky, Cartwright's hometown.

The 35-year-old revealed on her podcast in February that they were taking time apart from their marriage. The next update was Cartwright ending the union and citing the official date of separation as January 24, 2024.

While they may have failed in their partnership as couples, the estranged duo are placing their son above their marital problems.

On Tuesday, the reality star shared an update on their co-parenting relationship. In her words: "We're okay, we're co-parenting. That's the most important thing. Other than that, it is what it is ."

She also added that they will never let their personal issues prevent them from raising their son, whom they love so much. "It's going to be fine no matter what because we both love him so much," Cartwright reiterated. "So, even if Taylor and I are fighting, it's not going to ever come between Cruz."

Taylor also explained earlier that his son was the reason he checked into a mental health facility where he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and PTSD.

Taylor's trip to rehab bore helpful fruits as it helped him make important discoveries about himself, including that he was a textbook narcissist.

The Blast reported that he also admitted on his podcast that he learned "five new terms" that he had never heard of before getting treatment at the facility in July.

"I've done them all for years and had no idea. I am a narcissist, yes. I breadcrumb, I love bomb, and also gaslighting. I'm missing some but I do all these things. I had no idea there were terms for these things," Taylor noted on the "When Reality Hits" podcast.

The star also promised to do more research on the meaning of the new words he discovered, as he expressed his surprise that he fit into their descriptions. The 45-year-old added:

"So yes, I have to humble myself and say, 'Do you think you're a narcissist?' And I do. I don't know how I became one, but I do believe I'm a narcissist."

The TV personality admitted his fault for taking too long to seek help for his anger problems after several pleas from Cartwright for years.

He noted that everyone he took for granted, including his estranged wife, was tired of walking on eggshells around him, hence the constant pleas for him to find a solution.

Taylor blamed his reluctance and hesitation on growing up in an environment where asking for help of any sort was frowned upon. He then added that he would break that toxic cycle with Cruz by encouraging him to always ask for help whenever he needs it.
