It’s no shocker that Carpenter made the TIME100 Next cut, especially as her sixth studio album, "Short n' Sweet," which dropped on Friday, August 23, skyrocketed to the top of the Billboard 200 chart, racking up an impressive 362,000 equivalent album units.

"I called it 'Short n' Sweet' for multiple reasons," Carpenter said of where the album's title came from. "It was not because I'm vertically challenged. I thought about some of these relationships and how some of them were the shortest I've ever had, and they affected me the most."

"I think about the way that I respond to situations, and sometimes it is very nice, and sometimes it's not very nice. And again, the thing about albums, projects, writing songs, it's all moments," she added.

In 2017, the ex-Disney Channel star opened up about the experience of serving as a role model for countless young girls around the globe.

“I think that, you have to be doing it almost for yourself,” she told Impact Nottingham. “I think so much of it is knowing you can’t please everybody, because I’m the type of person that wants to please everybody.”

“At the end of the day, would you rather be a happy person or a miserable person? People make mistakes and you’re going to get through it, but also, make it as fun as you can and don’t take it too seriously," she added. “It truly is your job, but you should be having fun.”

"Short n' Sweet" is out now.
