Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters are reportedly taking a break as the rocker focuses on rebuilding trust with his family after announcing he had an affair.
The band canceled their appearance at the Soundside Music Festival, and a source revealed that it was due to personal challenges, including the news of Grohl's love child.
Dave Grohl has been married to Jordyn Blum since 2003, and the couple shares three daughters.
Foo Fighters Reportedly Plan To Go On A Break As Dave Grohl Prioritizes Family After His Affair Revelation
The Foo Fighters were initially scheduled to make their first appearance since Grohl's affair scandal at the Soundside Music Festival in Bridgeport, Connecticut, this weekend, but they unexpectedly withdrew to deal with recent challenges.
The band released a statement: "Foo Fighters will no longer be appearing at this weekend's Soundside Music Festival. Please check the festival website for more information."
An insider has now shared with The Sun that they need "time to be with their families and focus on regrouping."
"It's been a turbulent few years, with the loss of their best friend, drummer Taylor Hawkins, the death of Dave's mum and now the birth of his new child," the insider said. "He wants to be at home and focus on earning back the trust of his family."
They added, "Being on the road isn't the best thing for any of them at the moment. It feels like a hiatus is the best thing for them collectively."
Dave Grohl Fathered A Child Outside His Marriage of 21 Years
On September 10, Grohl took to social media to share a personal update, admitting to an affair and revealing that he had recently welcomed a baby girl outside of his 21-year marriage to Jordyn Blum.
In the Instagram post shared with his 1.4 million followers, the 55-year-old rock star stated, "I've recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage. I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her."
He continued, "I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness."
Grohl closed the post by asking for understanding and adding, "We're grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved as we move forward together."
The Rockstar Previously Admitted To Cheating On His First Wife
Grohl and Blum met in 2001 and have been married since 2003. The couple shares three daughters: Violet, 18, Harper, 15, and Ophelia, 10.
After Grohl publicly admitted to fathering a child outside their marriage, Violet and Harper appeared to delete their social media profiles.
Incidentally, this is not Grohl's first experience with infidelity, as he previously admitted in a 2007 interview with The Guardian to cheating on his first wife, Jennifer Leigh Youngblood.
They married in 1994 but separated in 1996 and finalized their divorce in 1997.
In that same interview, Grohl credited Blum and their eldest daughter Violet with keeping him "from completely disappearing."
Jordyn Blum Might Speak On Her Marriage To The Rockstar In A Tell-All Memoir
Although Blum has remained mostly silent since his disclosure of fathering a child with another woman, there are claims that she is being offered millions to tell her story in a book.
The ex-model and producer is reportedly considering a lucrative book deal with a Simon & Schuster subsidiary.
Sources told the Daily Mail that if Blum accepts the offer, her book could detail her efforts to sustain their marriage for the sake of their three daughters.
"Jordyn has lots to reveal about being married to Dave," the insider said. "If she decides to accept the offer, it will be an intimate look at her life with a rock' n' roll icon for over twenty years."
They added: "She'll tell how she's been holding the marriage together for the sake of their three daughters."
Dave Grohl's Ex-Girlfriend Labeled Him A 'Scumbag'
In a recent interview with TMZ, Grohl's ex-girlfriend, Kari Wuhrer, slammed the singer by calling him a "scumbag" and "serial cheater" over his love child confession.
Wuhrer, who dated Grohl in the late 1990s, recounted that he had pursued her while he was still in a relationship with snowboarder Tina Basich.
She recalled confronting Grohl on the "Howard Stern Show" about his unfaithfulness, which led the rockstar to allegedly yell at her.
Wuhrer revealed that her interview about Grohl led to a breakup between him and Basich. The singer also stopped talk to Wuhrer afterward.
According to her, she and Grohl have crossed paths in Los Angeles because their children attend the same play area, but the rocker acts like she does not exist.
"He would just look at me like I didn't exist," she told the news outlet. "I just felt like I knew he was scumbag after that."
