Ellen DeGeneres' bizarre nickname for Sean "Diddy" Combs has left social media users questioning her relationship with the rapper.
The controversial comedian once referred to Diddy with a strange moniker on his birthday that has now resurfaced online amid the music mogul's arrest and prosecution on sex crime charges.
Apart from Ellen DeGeneres, several other A-listers have seen their relationship with Diddy being placed in the spotlight. The rapper is currently in detention at a facility in New York, awaiting his trial.
Ellen DeGeneres Once Said We 'Don't Need To Know Why' She Calls Diddy 'Cuddle McSnugglestuff'
DeGeneres has once again come under scrutiny, this time for the creepy nickname she once called embattled rapper Diddy.
Back in 2016, the comedian made a post on X (formerly Twitter) to felicitate the music mogul on his birthday.
In the shoutout, she referred to Diddy by all the conventional names people know him by before adding her own special nickname for the rapper.
"Happy birthday, P Diddy, Puff Daddy, Sean Combs, or as I call him, Cuddle McSnugglestuff," she wrote at the time.
Her next remark, "You don't need to know why," made it even more unsettling, although, at the time, it seemed like an inside joke between Diddy and DeGeneres.
Social Media Users React To Ellen DeGeneres' Resurfaced Post
Some social media users expressed their concern over DeGeneres and Diddy's seemingly cordial relationship in light of the rapper's recent arrest for sex crime charges.
One individual alleged that the comedian was one of the many A-listers who attended Diddy's "Freak Offs," writing, "Ellen DeGeneres knows all too well about Diddy parties."
Another commented, "Mcsnugglestuff?!?! Those parties must've been insane to get a name like that."
A third user commented, "Ah, Ellen, now the layers start peeling back, don't they? Back in 2016, when you called Diddy' Cuddle McSnugglestuff,' it seemed like just another one of your quirky, offhand nicknames, didn't it? But here in 2024, with everything that's come to light, it raises eyebrows."
One more X account noted, "What a strange thing to say."
Multiple A-Listers Attended Diddy's Parties
Since Diddy's arrest, the rapper's cordial relationship with a lot of Hollywood A-listers has come to light in old posts and resurfaced videos.
Some of these A-listers also showed up at Diddy's parties, although it is unclear if those parties were the rapper's "Freak Offs," known for the sexual events that took place.
A resurfaced video of Khloe Kardashian from the "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" reality series confirmed that she once attended one of the parties and that "half" of the guests were butt naked.
Another resurfaced video featured Ashton Kutcher admitting to having attended the soirees, which he described as "weird."
Superstar basketballer LeBron James also once raved about Diddy's parties, as seen in a resurfaced four-year-old livestream. In the clip, he could be seen saying, "Ain't no party like a Diddy party."
While the revelations have only raised eyebrows about how much these A-listers knew about Diddy's crimes, none of them were named in the rapper's indictment.
Celebrities Have Distanced Themselves From Diddy
Other stars have made sure to point out they have no affiliation with Diddy or have since cut ties with the rapper as he continues to make headlines after his arrest.
Singer Pink recently debunked false claims that she deleted her X posts due to controversies surrounding Diddy.
She said, "I don't know why I became a headline this week, but I wiped my Twitter account on February 6!!! There is no truth to the rumors spread this week, and while I've met people in passing, I'm not associated with any of the people mentioned."
A source close to Oscar award winner Leonardo DiCaprio also slammed rumors linking him to Diddy, claiming that the then-budding actor only attended a few parties, and none of them were "Freak Offs."
"Leonardo DiCaprio has absolutely nothing to do with any of this," the source told the Daily Mail. "He attended a few of his parties back in the early 2000s - but literally everyone did."
"They were not freak-offs," the source continued. "They were big house parties. Leo was at the start of his career at the time and has moved way past his partying."
The Rapper's Lawyer Believes The Feds Want To Take Down A 'Successful Black Man'
Diddy is currently being held in a detention facility in New York ahead of his next court date in October. He is charged with three felony counts: "racketeering, sex trafficking, and using transportation to engage in prostitution."
After his arrest, he was twice denied bail, based on the notion that he was a possible flight risk and to avoid witness tampering.
In the meantime, his lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, has tagged the rapper's arrest and prosecution as a witchhunt of a successful black man.
"They start making this case as a takedown of a successful black man. This is the government scrutinizing his business, scrutinizing his taxes; he does everything right," the former Manhattan Assistant District Attorney said in TMZ's "The Downfall of Diddy: The Indictment."
He added, "What's the last vestige? We are going to go into his bedroom because maybe we don't like the way he is having sex."
