Is Alan Ruck's car crash lawsuit plaintiff about to add stalking to his running lawsuit?
The actor's alleged accident victim is questioning if he employed the services of a private investigator to keep tabs on him after the freak accident and in the middle of their legal tussle.
Alan Ruck crashed his 2023 Rivian truck into a restaurant last November, but authorities claimed he was completely sober during the unfortunate incident.
Alan Ruck Refused To Answer The Private Investigator Question
The victim, Horacio, requested that the court force Ruck to answer questions and tender the necessary documents.
Horacio claimed that Ruck refused to answer whether he hired a private investigator or ordered a surveillance service on him. The plaintiff explained that such "information is discoverable and not automatically protected by the attorney-client privilege or work product."
Ruck fired back at the request, outrightly objecting as his lawyer stated that requesting such information "is a clear attempt to seek to invade asserted privileges and obtain information protected by the attorney-client privilege," per In Touch.
Horacio's Made Lengthy Demands For His Troubles
Following the accident, the car production company reportedly conducted an internal investigation and concluded the car did not malfunction at the time of the accident.
Horacio had earlier claimed that he was the driver who Ruck hit at the red light, causing him to suffer "severe injuries and damages" from the accident.
He also shared that he was conveyed to the hospital following the accident. Horacio concluded his lawsuit by demanding unspecified damages for "property damage, costs of past and future medical care, pain and suffering, mental anguish, emotional distress, and other consequential damages."
The Actor Demanded Horacio's Case Be Thrown Out
Since the car production company cleared Alan, the Netflix star argued that Horacio's damages, "if any, are due in whole or in part to the proximate contributory and comparative fault of Horacio and/or third parties."
His attorney also claimed,"that the liability of Alan, which liabilityis specifically denied, should be reduced or barred in proportion to said fault."
Ruck's lawyer added that the actor is entitled to an "offset or credit for the full amount of all monies received by Horacio, either directly or indirectly, in connection with all insurance claims and settlements."
Ruck and his legal team concluded their statement by requesting that Horacio's suit be dismissed and be awarded nothing in addition.
Ruck Was Glad No Lives Were Lost In The Incident
The Blast noted that the actor showed up in public with a slight limp in his steps days after the car accident, prompting questions from curious journalists about his health.
Ruck confirmed that he was okay and physically sound, but most importantly, thankful no one died in the crash. The actor clarified that his limp, which the paparazzi would not ignore, was not from the impact of the car accident.
As he proceeded to enter his vehicle, Ruck put all his curiosity to rest and blamed his new walking condition on the effects of aging on the human body.
Alan Ruck Was Spotted Actively Operating His Phone At The Accident Scene
The award-winning actor reportedly crashed his truck into Raffalo’s Pizza shop around 9 p.m. The Blast reported that a viral clip of the event showed his white vehicle lodged into the side of a brick building and causing severe damage.
Onlookers could be heard commenting on the impact of the damage as Ruck was seen standing around the crash area, communicating on his cell phone, and possibly calling for help from emergency services.
At that time, reports suggested two people were injured in the crash, but they were conscious and still breathing despite the severity of the situation. No pedestrians were also affected by the auto crash.
Where will Alan Ruck’s lawsuit swing? Time will tell!
