'RHONJ' Star  Melissa Gorga Was Sworn To Secrecy About Teresa Giudice's Boyfriend

Teresa Giudice shared the news of her new relationship with boyfriend Luis Ruelas on the April 21 episode of "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" and after the show aired, her sister-in-law, Melissa Gorga, appeared on the "Real Housewives of New Jersey: After Show," where she admitted to knowing about Ruelas prior to the reveal.

“I swore I would never say he existed or we knew him or met him or saw him or anything," she recalled. 

So, when Gorga learned that Giudice had volunteered the information to her co-stars during a cast event she wasn't part of, she was completely caught off-guard.

"I was just like, ‘Woah! Is this a trick?' I can’t believe she told everyone. And of course the day I’m not there," Gorga stated. 

According to Gorga, she wanted to be present when Giudice shared the news for the first time because it was such a big moment for her, especially considering it followed the end of Giudice's 20-year marriage to ex-husband Joe.

"I would have loved to see everyone’s reaction and how she said it. I’m sure she was like a teenage schoolgirl all giddy. It would have been great," Gorga said.

"I wish I was there for that but I could not believe she told because it was like, ‘We are never talking about this.’ And I listened to her and I never talked about it because I thought certain things are off limits and I wanted her to be happy as well," Gorga continued. 

Giudice also addressed her big reveal herself on the "After Show," telling cameras that she decided to share the news about her and Ruelas on a whim after the Glenmere mansion was mentioned.

“Because of the Glenmere mansion was mentioned and that’s where he had just taken me on a date," Giudice replied after being asked why she chose to share the news of her new relationship when she did. 

"It was like our third date. And then I was like, ‘I just went there.’ I’m dating someone. We’re getting to know each other. We’re taking things slow and we’ll see how it goes,” she explained.

In real time, Giudice confirmed her romance publicly at the end of 2020.

Looking back at the early moments of her relationship with Ruelas, Giudice said that she didn't want to reveal too much to her co-stars after allowing them to be in the loop about her romance. 

"I shared a little bit. I don’t need to share too much. It’s only for me to know. When I’m ready to tell the world, I’ll tell them,” she explained.
